Love it too ! "You can skate around the issue if you like,
But who's gonna get you high in the middle of the night?"

Me too. Especially the keys and vocals starting around the 2:15 mark

It's one of my favorite Prince songs. His vocals are so amazing on it, and he sings with so much emotion. Fuck, I gotta go listen to it right now. "Drop that stereo before I blow your Goddamn nuts off, asshole!"

How has it remained unreleased officially? Prince is mental.

There's over a dozen tracks that I think Prince should be arrested for not releasing officially. Allegiance being another of them.

True. It's better to be appreciated for your art when you're alive. He should get this stuff out there to fans, even if limited release and with not much fanfare. Casuals can bandwagon jump later.
Maybe he's stubborn, hates or is jealous of his most creative period or or doesn't care anymore, but roger me if there aren't diamonds in the vault! Where's my Crystal Ball II in sexy, HD supersound?

The best was in the song F.U.N.K. where Prince says "…well, it may not be 'The Grand Progression', but it sure is funky…"

It was intended for the Graffiti Bridge movie, but it was replaced by "Still Would Stand All Time".I think Prince made the right decision."The Grand Progession" is nice, but a little too draggy.

Jeez louise! 'The right decison'? To each their own I suppose. It must be at least a minute shorter in reality though. And it's not shit like half the 'Graffiti Bridge' album is either.

I think datdude is actually thinking of "The Divine," which Prince mentioned in a few interviews with claims that it was too good for people to deal with. And I don't think anyone's heard it--at least not that I've ever seen anyone report.

That's it, Aethelherring, I knew I hadn't imagined that. The Divine. I love SWSAT so if GP is as good, it'll be worth the search

Agree. Never really liked The Grand Progression, I'd take Still Would Stand All Time over it every time

The Grand Progression is way to experimental in its minimalism and non pop melody to have fit in the movie or album with all those other pop songs. I have this funny feeling that if it was the other way around and Still Would Stand All Time was the bootleg, you ALL would be flipped in what you write. The Grand Progression sounds a bit retro Vangelis. I do like it. My art book: http://www.lulu.com/spotl...ecomicskid

My favorite outtake by far. Only been waiting on a legit cioy since I first heard it in the mid-90's or so. So only 20 years of Prince doing anything and everything, and making excuses about not releasing the good music.
