Purple House

Anybody ever his jam by Prince performed also performed live at Le Bataclan on 17 November, 1999 (am)?

Purple House (aka Red House)

Purple House is the fourth track (third song) on the 2004 tribute album Power Of Soul: A Tribute To Jimi Hendrix. The track is a cover version of the 1967 track Red House by The Jimi Hendrix Experience (written by Jimi Hendrix), which first appeared on Are You Experienced (1967).

The name of the track was changed by Prince to mirror his famous association with the color purple.

Recording dates and studio are unknown, but it is likely that initial tracking took place in 1999 at Paisley Park Studios, Chanhassen, MN, USA. The track features Larry Graham (who had turned down an offer to play with Hendrix at the 1968 Woodstock festival) on bass guitar.

I love it, being a fan of both Hendrix and Prince. This is great!

As you are just copying and pasting from PrinceVault without credit, here's a link to the website page from which you've copied:

And here's the page describing the compilation album on which the recording features

A performance also features on the Rave Un2 The Year 2000 DVD recording, as the most prominent part of the blues medley:

ALT+PLS+RTN: Pure as a pane of ice. It's a gift.

I actually prefer through live version from the rave DVD, there's just so much more life to imo, I do like both but the live guitar playing is just on fire

To me, the recorded version is nothing spectacular. But that live version on the Rave DVD is an all time favorite of mine. His guitar playing is blazing!
