Blame warnerS ???? Someone asked Prince on Twitter about the Purple rain remaster and he said he already delivered it to WB so its on them. He also said we should picket them for the release ... . I can't understand why wb wouldn't release it .2 sides to every story I suppose ... 'Love is God, God is love

We don't know what's gone on behind the scenes. It doesn't make sense to me why either Prince or Warners would hold up the release. I just hope when it does come, there'll be some quality outtakes on it we've never heard before. | |

Not sure I believe that it was delivered without any additional material (though that is certainly possible). More than likely, WB is draggin' their feet for another reason that hasn't come to light. They may be trying to get Prince to do some sort of event to commemorate it, or a tour with the Revolution...something he isn't going to be too keen on.

he could be telling the truth but....this sounds all too familiar. on the other hand, i look at it like why would they give him all his music back without a guarantee of remasters and expanded editions? warners can't be that dumb or stupid and they should use prior knowledge and experience to know better. | |

The purple rain remaster was 1 disc, just the album no bonus stuff. Re-mastered, actually re-mastered about 5 years ago-ish.
He even spoke about it being one disc with no bonus tracks in an interview either this year or last, i'm sure someione will quote it here. | |

If it had bonus material,I'm sure Warners would release it right away.Record companies LOVE releasing 'expanded deluxe editions' of classic albums.My guess is that Prince delievered the nine tracks from the original album and nothing else.Warners' attitude is "why bother releasing it then"? | |

Warners probably can't "demand" that Prince hand over some bonus material,but they really should have added this stipulation to the contract.

So, it must have been clearly stated in the deal for remasters. Then again, the original Tidal statement of "Purple Pick of the Week" mentioned Vault recordings too. And look what happened. If Prince delivered the remaster of PR 9 tracks only--it wouldn't be worth the cost to manufacture & distribute that. Especially in the heels of low sales of AOA and PLEL for Warners. | |

I bet prince submitted a remastered albeit edited version of PR (removing darling Nikki) or an alternate take of darling Nikki (instrumental). Why oh why hasn't this been released in a fully fledged deluxe multi disc set?? P is the one holding this up!!!! | |
