I've now bought 2 copies of this album and both have come without any booklet. Would anyone be kind enough to post some pics of what it looks like inside the elusive booklet?

Not all versions had the booklet:

1-800-New-Funk 5 disc version in crystal ball package - no booklet

Retail 4 disc version in crystal ball package - booklet

Retail 4 disc version in double jewel case - booklet

Two versions of the retail jewel case, both 2nd hand, must be an easy book to lose

Try searching discogs.com they usually have scans of booklets on there.

I never saw crystal ball in a store ever...

I never saw this for more than 5 to 10 (pound/dollars) as it wasn't selling at all.

The liner notes reveal informations about the songs that the fans who designed the layouts couldn't possibly have, and are written in typical Prince cryptic language. They are definitely by Prince.

Wrong yet again, genius. The liner notes of the box set contained information from Prince about the musicians who played on songs and corresponding backstories.

The only place around here that sold it was a chain store called Media Play. None of the record shops carried it. The real pisser was they had it at least a month before those of us who ordered it started getting them.

yeah,I remember what a mess that was....fans who pre-ordered it were seeing it in stores before their own copies arrived.I was one of the lucky ones.Mine arrived on time,before it was in stores.
