I think it is. At the very least, it wasn't something that was released in 1986/87. The "text only" version of the Paisley Park logo debuted in 1990 (Graffiti Bridge). From 85-88 it was the (far superior) paisley-shaped logo.

I jump from loving this song to being totally meh about it. Love the intro lead in from Kiss but there's something about that chorus that never sounds quite complete to me. Like he's struggling to find a proper chorus and never quite gets there.. it just trails off with "baby, baby" and "solo, solo" like it ran out of steam. Not my favourite of 12"'s either.

Just a minor complaint about it, all within the context of it being my fav prince album. It's still GREAT.

YES! The call and response between lead and background vox are fantastic.

I slept on this song for a while, but the video/ live version really got me into it.

TLM: Which are the most memorable tunes that you recorded with Prince and were released?

Eric Leeds: Some of my favourite Prince songs are the songs that I had nothing to do with. There's no one Prince album that I'm going to listen to from beginning to end without skipping tracks. One remarkable thing about Prince is that he's probably one of the most eclectic artists in all of pop music. The songs that I find myself going back to more often are what Alan and I refer to as his "boutique songs." The greatest example to me is the "Ballad of Dorothy Parker" [on the Sign 'O' The Times album] - that's just one of my favourite Prince songs. Interestingly enough that's the song where he gave me the opportunity to go in and do a complete horn arrangement on, which he didn't use anything from. That song was just so perfect without anything else. I happen to love "Anotherloverholenyohead" from the Parade album.
