On repetaed listens I'm in love with this song. It's got a heartbreaking quality and if you really hear the lyrics, its so self aware....and while its too short, the abrubt ending starts to make sense after awhile....

I totally agree. It's s great song. One of my favorite post-1995 songs ever. It's very unique in his catalog.

And the intro of June sounds like 10CC's "I'm not in love", which is a far better song.

Wow, I look forward to a few good listenings. Question of U & Joy in Repetition is top notch Prince stuff.

Its fucking fantastic. And saddening at the same time. Whilst I really do not like what Josh has done on the rest of the album this understated track, and the musicis truly sublime. So whilst I'll shoot him down for what is wank by numbers, it is really sad that the same guy can produce something of this quality, space and understatement. This is where his talent lies.

And if what we are told about the production of this album is correct then it is this space and atmosphere into which Prince has woven his vocals and lyrics, which could possibly be the same with Way Back Home. It's just a waste that Josh has this up his sleeve yet wastes his talents on sounds that he creates earlier in the album.

Maybe a twelve track album please Josh, in a similar vein, starting with January and going through to December?

I agree...minimal is where Josh should focus his energies (if Josh was the main hand here, I wonder). I adore these spacey trips...this should have been on AOA...it reminds me a bit of the ethereal quality that maxwell managed back in the 90s with embrya...

Also I'm not sure why but I feel it is short and a little different than the rest of the album because it will somehow transition into and "make sense soon" when Phase 2 comes around
