What I like about this album is that it fills up the space on my shelf between AOA and HnR nicely. If it wasn't there, one of those two cds might lean over slightly, and that would upset my OCD.

Yes, that would be a problem... bored2

When you say Stop This Train is better than Blue Light and Ripopgodazippa I'm not sure if you're serious or joshing (pardon the pun biggrin )

Serious as a heart attack...

Hey, you posted your opinion and I posted mine! lol

I'll confess, I think that Wow, Another Love, Tic-Tac-Toe, and Stop This Train are kinda cool. But this ain't no Prince album.

Is it as great as 1999/Parade/Sign/name your own? No, but I don't think that ever was the intention anyway. Is Hannah a great singer? No, but neither are Vanity nor Appolonia and nobody ever hated on them like they do on the girl whose name spelt backwards says the same mothafuckin shit... PlecElec is a nice collection of songs ranging from the reggae-flavored StopThisTrain (better than Blue Light or Ripopgodazippa) to the punkrockabilly of Marz and everything in between. It's Prince recharging his creative batteries by going back to basics.. And as for the stupid shit that is Boytrouble, well, our hero placed that conveniently at the beginning of side B, so that it's easy to skip. Overall, Plec is a fine album. Come on, Plec fans, even if there's only a few of you, step up! woot!

Prince? Just keep putting stuff out, man. We always like some of it.

Just like New Power Soul, it's not really a Prince album nor a protege album. It falls somewhere in betwee.

I tallied my plays per album for all music last year in iTunes and PlectrumElectrum was my top played Prince album... so that summarizes how I feel about it.

Change it one more time..

Songs like The Word, Fury... Some of his most consistent work... I mean Lotusflow3r has so much filler it could be considered the Emancipation of the 2000's... Planet Earth puts you to sleep, and is just so bland... Musicology is average then gets stale... HitnRun has like 2 good songs the rest is just bad sound for your ears... AOA is ok, but a little stale... 20Ten has a few good songs, Sticky Like Glue is great, Future Soul Song, the rest is just a bad nostalgic 80's lynn drum gone wrong... Plectrum Electrum is just not good besides AnotherLove... To be honest his recent albums have been so bad I can't even decipher what's "good" in terms of Prince quality anymore...

It is not his greatest, but it is okay and does not deserve the level of hatred it gets here. Anotherlove is one of his finest songs (Even if it is a cover, the original version is unlistenable - Prince takes it and owns it! cool).

Wow, Fixurlifeup and Plectrum Electrum are just fine too, the rest is decent, only Boytrouble is truly bad. It is a fairly solid album overall, but I agree that it will date badly in years to come. It also had the bad luck to come out with the superior "Art Official Age".

Got some kind of love for you, and I don't even know your name

It's decent. BOYTROUBLE is dope. Hannah is alright.

Finally, ONE other person here that digs 'BOYTROUBLE'. That ish is dope. I think the 'PlectrumElectrum' album is highly underrated here as a whole.

I need to hear this song and the album biggrin I have not heard either yet. lol

That is true, but the funny thing is that he had been pushing Plec for almost a year while AOA seemed to come out of nowhere. I just can't help feeling Plec was the album he really wanted to make and he only put out AOA because WB wanted a "Prince" album. Just a guess!

I love the 3rdeyegirl album. I prefer my own track listing (e.g. losing Boy trouble and adding Screwdriver etc), but its some of the most exciting music P has put out in years.
