HitnRun out on vinyl? Sorry in advance if I've missed a recent thread on this.
A few days ago Jon Bream wrote the following on startribune.com:
“HitNRun,” which was launched as an exclusive on the Tidal streaming site, is now available on CD and vinyl.

But I can't seem to find any trace of a vinyl version anywhere on the web. Has anybody else any knowledge as to if or when a vinyl version will see the light of day?

That could be good. I still regret that when AOA came out I didn't wait for the LP; I don't usually buy the same album on CD and LP. But vinyl is so popular nowadays that record plants just can't keep up. So sometimes the vinyl release is delayed...

Yeah, I know. I didn't expect the vinyl just yet. But I was intrigued because the otherwise well-informed Jon Bream says it's suddenly out there now.
But I guess it's a slip up on his part. He's probably got word that the vinyl version will be coming at some point and then accidentally put it like that in the article.

i don't think that's really the case. i think it's usually a marketing move designed to encourage 'double dip' purchases and/or to gauge demand; which i think there would be very little of for this album unless it were somehow a limited edition collectible, e.g. two 10" platters or a collection of 7" 'singles' including non album tracks (either of which might be cool and actually motivate me to purchase) .

. There've been several examples of vinyl arriving much later due to delays in production. IIRC NIN's latest album, for instance. © Bart Van Hemelen

. I very much doubt Prince or Tidal are going to invest in such a release. © Bart Van Hemelen

The issues with vinyl manufacturing infrastructure and supply chains are well documented. There are not only a limited number of vinyl presses still left, but only a handful of companies that produce the lacquer and vinyl pieces needed in the production process. Many vinyl enthusiasts also believe that the trend for limited edition novelty records and events like Record Store Day (somewhat ironic, isn't it?) is exacerbating the already significant bottleneck for vinyl manufacturing. It's not a marketing ploy. Not at all. It's a real issue for the music industry right now. "Drop that stereo before I blow your Goddamn nuts off, asshole!"
