"Party like it's 1929" would be more fitting to this time periode but not everybody get this yet, despite the truth surrounding us.

Agree, I guess its a generation thing with 1989 selling 1,287,000 copies in its first week. I guess the young kiddies, teenagers, and 20 yr olds really dig it.

I love 1999 just trying to see how these people make like 1989 is so good. Title Wise 1989 sonds more like 1999 Ripoff!

There's that new report now that says Taylor Swift has made a million dollars a day this year and is on pace to earn $365 million. Her album is up to 5 million in sales, I would like to see her contract

Nonetheless, I think Prince would hope to have another year as successful as this

1999's just about better, but only if you replace the original title track with the New Master. That tips it over the edge.

Not bad, but this is the definite configuration of the album:

1999 (Keep Steppin')
Little Red Corvette (Don't Stop Drivin' Mix ft. Tony M)
Delirious (ft. The Twinz on vocals)

Segue about getting your tax returns in on time
Let's Get Married
F.U.N.K.
AUTOMATIC RELOADED

Segue about the 1952 Winter Olympics
Something in the Water (Does Not Compute) EDM Mix with a constant dripping water noise
Free (rap by DVS)

Segue of slow hand clapping and a chipmunk voice squealing "I love cheese"
Lady Cab Driver / All the Critics Love U in New York / International Lover medley
1999 (Never Look Back - 2 Many Hits)

U been bamboozled, hoodwinked, took.

I stand corrected, this would pretty much be better than anything ever in the history of things lol

Somebody more knowledgable than I can probably describe it better, but from my understanding it was a re-recording of the original track album track Prince actually released in 1999 I guess to benefit from the pre-Y2K excitement or something. It's apparently famously awful but since I became a fan more recently than its release I haven't actually ever heard it, not that I have any particular desire to! My initial reference was a joke smile

A whole CD put out in the year 1999 ( The Original was released in 1982) with about 4-5 different versions of 1999 the song.
