. I think it is. At the very least, it wasn't something that was released in 1986/87. The "text only" version of the Paisley Park logo debuted in 1990 (Graffiti Bridge). From 85-88 it was the (far superior) paisley-shaped logo.

Prince And The Revolution– Anotherloverholenyohead Genre:Electronic, Hip Hop, Funk / Soul
Style:Synth-pop, Funk, Disco
Year: 1986
Notes:
Released as the 3rd single from the "Parade" album in most territories except Europe. Girls & Boys was the B-Side.
In Europe it was released as the 4th single from the album. As "Girls & Boys" had been already released as a single there "I Wanna Be Your Lover" was used as the B-side. Artwork is also different for the European pressing. I prefer the American rel image

I jump from loving this song to being totally meh about it. Love the intro lead in from Kiss but there's something about that chorus that never sounds quite complete to me. Like he's struggling to find a proper chorus and never quite gets there.. it just trails off with "baby, baby" and "solo, solo" like it ran out of steam. Not my favourite of 12"'s either. The vocal arrangment on this song is just magic. Overall, an all-time Prince gem.

That yellow suit. We don’t mourn artists because we knew them. We mourn them because they helped us know ourselves.

One of my favourite intro's and outro's. Funky as all that.

YES! The call and response between lead and background vox are fantastic.

YES! The call and response between lead and background vox are fantastic. Perfect rock funk song. The lyrics have so much tension that is equally matched by the complicated vocal arrangement. It's interesting that Susannah does vocals on this because I assume it's about her.

Always thought it is the most Stevie Wonder reminiscent vibe... The Ignorant asserts,The learned doubts,The wise thinks.

This was one of those people that just disliked everything Prince did
New Musical Express
... just plain ol' black and white narcissim (another throwback to 'Dirty Mind'). Most important, Prince isn't being such a sourpuss primadonna anymore. There I was thinking the little mulatto Amadeus was on the edge of a breakdown ...
the remorseless parade of overdone semi-ideas, followed by the melodically beguiling 'Anotherloverholenyohead' (yes, it is a stupid title, isn't it).

TLM: Which are the most memorable tunes that you recorded with Prince and were released? Eric Leeds: Some of my favourite Prince songs are the songs that I had nothing to do with. There's no one Prince album that I'm going to listen to from beginning to end without skipping tracks. One remarkable thing about Prince is that he's probably one of the most eclectic artists in all of pop music. The songs that I find myself going back to more often are what Alan and I refer to as his "boutique songs." The greatest example to me is the "Ballad of Dorothy Parker" [on the Sign 'O' The Times album] - that's just one of my favourite Prince songs. Interestingly enough that's the song where he gave me the opportunity to go in and do a complete horn arrangement on, which he didn't use anything from. That song was just so perfect without anything else. I happen to love "Anotherloverholenyohead" from the Parade album.
