All the people saying Prince wore a dress here or there don't ever seem to have any kind of photo to prove it...

Lol. Someone is cooking up some proof as we speak.

The really interesting question here is why so many people are so uncomfortable with the posibility of Prince wearing a dress. What's the problem if he really has worn a dress like the one in the Photoshopped image? Does it touch on a homophobic nerve or something?

There'd be no problem if he had, but he hasn't. It's just an attempt to kill rumours before they even start. It'd get the same reception if it was a 'rumoured' tracklist with no source.

I bet that's true for some, but it seems the whole idea of Prince in a dress is a problem for some in this thread. I don't know, maybe I'm overinterpretating...

An even better question is where did you get that bs from? I don't like liars. Straight ones nor gay ones. Take that however you want to.

Who's the liar?

the persons who create the images or the idea of the images are the liars

Who said anyone was uncomfortable with the possibility?
I believe the homophobic nerve is behind the person(s) creating the idea that there are 'these pictures' out there that no one has seen.

kewlschool. "Prince and a lot of male rock stars put on a dress for charity." He did not; not in that picture. And that was my only point.

I can see why a homophobe would make up pictures of Prince in a dress because he or she believes it would hurt him. I guess I just don't get why the response to that isn't just an indifferent "so what if he has worn a dress?"

Right, okay. I thought it was too obvious that the Photoshopped photo was fake that I didn't get that kewlschool tried to pass it as authentic. smile

Because this isn't knew. If this was the first time, maybe. But it is like there is an annual 'Prince wore a dress, I saw it' thread. Or this same photoshopped picture being presented.

And if Prince wore a dress he wouldn't look tacky like that photoshopped photo.
but moreso it is the deliberate lie.

homophobia ie fear of gay/homosexual, homosexual doesn't mean 'gay men wear dresses and want to look like women'

On the contrary... I think the people that rush to discredit the person who states that they actually did see a picture are the ones whose nerves have been touched, because of the possibility that such a picture exists. Notice how they are quick to knock someone down through snide remarks and sharp jabs... Hmmm...

I will state the following:

- I *DID* see a picture of him in a type of miniskirt

- It was in a New York paper, most likely on a Sunday because it was in color

- It was about 30 years ago. I would guess in the 86-89 range.

I actually have started searching for this, but every newspaper archive I find wants money to get the articles. Which is funny, because if my original post was left alone, I probably wouldn't have bothered. Someone else who was in the NY area at the time and was a big Prince fas as I was had to have seen it.

People have been talking about these sighting of Prince wearing a mini skirt or dress for a long time. And there are a lot of hardcore long time fans... who have never seen these pictures. This is why it is quick to get shut down. Like I said, it's been happening for a long time with no results Ever.
My older brother told me that was Prince, when I thought it was a woman, back in 1987 on the sleave of the SOTT single. I accepted that for a while. I had no problem at all because he was always doing things to cause controversy. He's imitated women on Time/Vanity 6 tracks etc he has always played with cross gender stuff in his music. And I have no problem with it, and it is fun how he does it.

If someone has a picture post it, no lies, no photoshops, just stop talking about it, asking us 'does any have/know of the picture...' when we have gone over this over and over for a long time.

Thank you for being civil.

.

I am looking for it, and believe me if I find it, I'll post it here. (I'll even pay the newspaper archives for it if need be). Now, I need to find it, just for my own piece of mind - because after everyone tells you 'you're crazy' (more or less), you start to second-guess yourself.

.

Please note, my issue was no so much that people didn't believe me as much as they were being nasty about it.

.

Bob

EDIT - one thing I need to clear up is that the photo I remember seeing, he was *not* in public - It was a photo session shot against a solid color background.

I already posed one. The second post on page 2 of this thread. Now, whether you choose to believe it's a dress or not is another story but it sure looks like a dress to me. If it were on any other male, people would be calling it a dress. And even on Prince, the only ones that don't think it's a dress are Prince fans.

And not just the dress but that feminine fish posture and pose too to go along with it. This picture looks like an old pervert on the ho stroll approaching a drag queen. Clive looks like he's whispering.... "Can't you come down on your price because I don't have much for you to suck.".... And Miss Prince looks like he's saying.... "Yeah, but that little wrinkled up teenie weenie with those gray hairs is such I turn off, I might end up converting into a Jehovah's Witness and giving up dicks altogether.". lol

Dress, robe, gown...whatever the hell you wanna call it...it ain't like that is the craziest thing Prince has ever worn! Dresses are tame by comparison to some of his outfits!
