3eg the new npg I was gonna start a thread asking how long till p swaps out 3eg members the way he did with npg ... And if it would be with dudes Looks like p beat me to it Just read the repord from bball gig last night and lol kirky j on drums ... Of all people ... Ha! I cant stand hannah dumming ... Just awful .. P must be pranking the org to call on kirky j ... The previous crown holder for worst p drummer Still it had to be an improvement At least p career still holds comedic value if no musical value .. I an excited to see the line up when 3eg is all dudes P must be hitting the crack pipe with his best buds sly and clinton again | |

This band is not interesting at all, which is why I skipped it twice when Prince blew through the DMV area. Props to the girls for fattening up their resumes, but this latest incarnation is not a Prince band. More of a Prom band. | |

I disagree. Songs like Screwdriver, Fixurlifeup, Let's Go Crazy/Something in the water/chaos and disorder Reloaded, plus Another Love, Wow and FunknRolll show vitality, this band has done some top notch tracks with Prince. And there's the next`opus. | |

breaking it down: ida is out of 3eg(she has not send out anything on fb/twitter in about 2-3 months now)new bass player is now neon....former drummer kirk j.back on the scene so looks like hannah is out.if thats the case then what becomes of joshua..im seeing a new direction in the "prince sound" now more funkier,less rock.more soul.slightly less pop,is the minneapolis sound coming back? time will tell as we roll to 2016.keeps donna as rhythm guitarist(im good with that)now if he could recruit a funky horn section,back up singers and maybe just maybe a percussionist to round out the "new "band then 2016 "could "be bigger and brighter for prince"....."back in time?maybe..back to the sign o the times era?(might not be a bad idea)lets see from a distance....starting now.................. | |

None of his album with 3rd Eye Girl were 'more Rock' The Minneapolis Sound has been gone since the 1980s.. Ida was in the NPG for a long while and she was tight so I don't see how her leavin and this new kid is supposed to change anything Ida and Joshua were at the last Paisley Park shows dancing in the crowd | |

I have to say ... Ida was the best thing going in 3eg .. Glad hannah and josh are done .. If it is true ... I never hated kirky j like some do .. If it means we get "come on" live in the set list i am all for it ... Plus pop life remix is one of my faves .. Emancipations star trek sounding production was a major botch but i actually dug the live shows ... I really likedcthe piano driven version of "mad" they used to play as well | |

I was just there for the HnR relase party, did the tour and I was with IDA, Donna and Hannah. Ida loked pretty as ever. I saw her both nights. Donna played some guitar and Prince even called in on speakerphone. 3EG is a good group and I respect Prince for once gain breaking the mold, who knows how things will play out. Still waiting on that Remastered Purple Rain...LOL
