Everywhere - an underappreciated Prince jam

I've always thought Everywhere from TRC was an amazing song, but it's rarely praised on the Org. It's beautiful and uplifting, with a gorgeous melody and passionate vocals. In addition, the drums are killer.

I agree - it's probably my favourite track on that album. I wish it had been a part of the set during the ONA tour.

I like it quite a bit, but only after the opening bit is over. The weird emphasis on certain words really throws me. "Where the milk AND honey flow" "Without God IT wasn't there" Now I feel IT everywhere." They're hit just too hard.

Once we're past that, I love it. And when the chorus comes back, the IT isn't over emphasized, so I don't know why they did it at the beginning. And those notes (when that melody is used later in the song) aren't exaggerated in the other portions either. They're sung more smoothly. And it's really that AND that gets me, not so much the ITs.

I agree that it should have been part of the ONA tour. An instrumental version was played at the Oberhausen soundcheck, which can be found on the One Nite Alone in Oberhausen boot. That's the only live performance I know of.

A rousing, inspirational number. Lovely song. This, "Digital Garden" and "She Loves Me 4 Me" are the tracks I feel the most on TRC.
