Which Prince song is Lenny Kravitz on? Lenny has said he appears uncredited on a Prince song. Many assumed this to be "Peach" or something from The Gold Experience.
Place your bets... I think it's "Dolphin" but not sure why.

I had heard Peach, but I have no idea if it's true.
Maxx...You don't like Lenny? I have to say that I've cooled on him recently, but his first two albums are brilliant.

I have no facts but would wager a guess at "Rock N Roll is Alive," which I believe was Prince's answer to Lenny's song "Rock N Roll is Dead." Check out The Mountains and the Sea, a Prince podcast by yours truly and my wife. More info at https://www.facebook.com/TMATSPodcast/

I think Lenny is a better drummer than guitar player - so I doubt he got up on guitar on a P song - ESPECIALLY not Peach. Peach has that hideous over-distorted direct-to-8-track guitar noise that Prince was so fond of for a few months. Augh. Horrid. The Last Otan Track: www.funkmusician.com/what.mp3

It was said to be a track on Gold. Think it was mentioned in NME AFTER Emancipation was released.
Doubt it was "Rock n Roll is Alive..." just because it was a stab at Lenny for saying "Rock n Roll is Dead" so it would make no sense to have him on a track that was a direct response to his song. My guess? Listen to "Shy". If you have the demo version of it, listen to that as well. Nothing has ever been confirmed what track it is, so understand I am taking a guess. For all we know it was "We March". =-P [This message was edited Mon Mar 24 20:38:51 PST 2003 by jseven] Silence Speaks A Thousand Words.

Also, let me add that in April 1993, the show that Prince played at the Apollo in NY was professionaly shot by VH-1 (America) and featured Lenny doing "When You Were Mine". Several shots were shown on MTV news saying it would be a special to air at a later date.
Another clip from "the Morning Papers" was also shown on VH-1 (10 seconds in length)since that was the single at the time. It never aired on VH-1 due to Prince's name change and wishing to not promote Warner product or the cd. A different angle of the Lenny/Prince duet was shown on the MTV News 1515 Interview in November 1999 with Kurt Loder. This is another show more than likely chilling in Prince's vault alongside The ACT II pro shot Germany show (the Beautiful Ones from it was shown at the first Celebration) and the Ruby Sky performance in 2000. It's probably one of the tracks on Rave.
Before the album came out, it was announced that the album would feature several guest artists. There was a list of the collaborators involved, and Lenny was one of them. In fact he was the only one on the list not credited on the album when it finally got released.

When asked in an interview whether he would ever work with Lenny, he said:
"I've worked with Lenny a few times, one song is even released" He wouldn't tell which one, but apparantly it is. Doesn't have to be on a Prince album though. This was before the release of the Rave DVD, on which Lenny ofcourse is collaborating on two songs ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

1) Dolphin
2) Endorphine Machine 3) Interactive 4) Peach 5) I like It There 6) Same December 7) Right The Wrong 8) Chaos & Disorder Maybes: (9) Calhoun Square - (10) Da Bang - The possibility of Prince recording early demos for thses two songs with Lenny on these two track are a great. I don't hear Lenny's trademark play on these 2 as much as the others. I guess The NPG completed the released version from any early from with Lenny. I've read an article link about Lenny a while back in which he mentioned that the tracks he jammed with Prince were being released. His name could not be credited in the liner notes because their Record Companies would have "a problem" with it. TTD has said the same as well. Lenny would continue to promote his dream of creating a group with his friends that could be released once they worked out these problems. "Wherever You Go Whatever You Do" and Lenny's Grammy winning "Again" are obviously very similar, so they could possibly be from a mutual jam session with each other's input remaining on the tracks.

I remember reading an interview in Canada with Lenny in early 1996 (I was on my way back to work from picking up the Girl 6 ost) where he said what NGSPW7200 said - that some music had already been released. It's unlikely to be C&D tracks, then - they came later (although the title track of C&D could easily have Lenny on too).
I think it's most likely to be Peach, Endorphinmachine or Dolphin, although there's no real reason to think they aren't P on guitar too. Maybe Lenny played drums instead of guitar, in which case it really could be anything...

I love the 'Fly away' live track on the Rave DVD where Prince lets Lenny do his thing, Prince then chips in with the Blue Angel and totally steals the performance and takes the song into a whole new direction. Made Lenny look like the poor mans Jimmi that we all know he is!!.

Lenny's mom was on The Jefferson's -- she was married to a white man ("Willis") on the show. According to a VH-1 interview with Lenny, she basically got the role in part because she was at the time married to a white man in real life -- Lenny's dad. They later divorced and she has since died. Check out The Mountains and the Sea, a Prince podcast by yours truly and my wife. More info at https://www.facebook.com/TMATSPodcast/

I'm thinking that Lenny stole that one. Remember the Love4OneAnother site noted after it came out.. "Do you think Lenny has been listening Wherever You Go much? Or something like that. cracknbush
