No more 3rdeyegirl?

I know that there have belén some rumours already, but I just noticed that the portraits of the girls have gone from the Twitter account and it now says Prince, rather than Prince & 3rdeyegirl. Is that it for them, then? If so, I'm sorry. I wish they had stayed around for one more album, one that actually captures how great they were live.

Lettuce prey.

Prince has earned the right to have fun, but me thinks he needs inspiration moving forward; Someone to respectfully intimidate him into digging even deeper musically.

I think crossing paths with Josh can ultimately be a good thing. I honestly think Prince desperately needs an executive producer to craft albums out of his singular creations.

It's absolutely insane to even try to justify the song selection and sequencing of the actual actual albums (AOA was the most focused effort), but the quality of work is clearly still there and can be taken to the next level with proper sequencing.

As for the girls... Meh... They're welcome, I guess. They always had an awkward stage presence, collectively. They never moved the proverbial needle. Maybe he work with them; maybe he won't... Maybe he will not.

And I'm guessing there was some sort of deal where Hannah got to sing lead vocals for a few tracks in exchange for some production work from Josh. That needs to end... Forever.

The tag or whatever u call it in twatter still says Prince3eg, so not necessarily over. Still interested as to what the sophomore album they've trailed is like. Remember the vid of strings being added?

If this was a Survivor edition of Prince World, I'd vote Josh off the island first. As much as I like Hanna's enthusiasm and she seems like a great person, she is an unpolished and uninspired drummer and vocalist, so she'd go next if it were my call. Donna and Ida could be retained for the next incarnation of the NPG.

I do it think when 3redeyegirl is done, we'll see another senseless flushing of the current Twitter account and another loss of tens of thousands of followers, unfortunately.

You can change your Twitter name without losing followers. He could drop "3EG" from the name and be none the worse.

It certainly feels like he is working out a new band...maybe it's just for the upcoming tour he has strongly hinted is coming? Who knows...he will do what he wants and what he thinks is right. As long as music and Paisley parties continue to flow, I'm not complaining.

I will say that I have developed more respect for Hannah as a person than as a drummer...and that is NOT meant as a slight to her drumming. IfyouknowwhatImean.

It sounds like Prince, after exploring his rock side for a couple of years live, now wants to return to a funkier, less rock based live performance style. Maybe it was his experience with Judith. maybe the plan is to tour with her.

As for 3eG, I did hope for a sophomore project just to see if they could better capture their live sound and perhaps forget about Hannah singing most of the tracks.

How about Prince & The Original 7ven.

Or better yet, just Prince.
He doesn't need to name his backing band. When people go to see him, they are going to see Prince. Not his band.

Yep just Prince now

Well, I don't say people just go to see him. Depending on the band people took in the whole scene. that is what Prince pushed from day one. Which is why his bands back then took on personnas and reflections of Prince. The 80s bands it worked. the 90s was kinda sloppy, the 2000s was hit or miss

Prince & the Original7 wouldn't last 7 minutes. bitchfight For the rest, U R correct. When I saw him in 2010 & 2011, his band was nameless and those were some of the best concerts.

I like Donna, but if Prince wants to go back to a funkier sound, Ida is the one to keep.

Well, yeah, the Original 7 comment was just me being silly. But seriously though, if he does insist on having a named band backing him up, I don't know why he doesn't do a tour, or even just one concert, with The Revolution. I know it's a topic that's been discussed to death on here but I do think it would do him good to reconnect with old friends and see how things go.

.
This is exactly why the NPG will live on - to confound fans everywhere. For as short of attention span he seems to often have, he's held on to the NPG name for decades.

For him, NPG is not a lineup anymore . . . it's a concept. It was only a lineup in the early/mid 90s.

3rdEyeGirl is a specific lineup of Hannah/Ida/Donna . . . to continue 3EG without those three girls doesn't make sense.

I just read an article the other day on Herbie Hancock. He's excited because he and his buddy Carlos Santana are getting ready to form a supergroup called SuperNova. There will be other legendary artists in the band, too.THIS is exactly what Prince should be doing!!! mad Put together a REAL BAND of truly talented, legendary musicians and get out there and do something extraordinary!!! He could potentially reach a whole new audience with a project like that.

.

Has Santana done anything of value in the past couple of decades?

.

These superbands often are pretty shite anyway, see https://en.wikipedia.org/...SuperHeavy for instance.
