This is not auto tune, what you are hearing can be naturally done with ones voice.

Nope. Either autotune, melodyne or something similar I'm afraid.

Not the first time Prince/Josh has used auto tune.
Probably won't be the last time.

No matter what, vocals are digitally manipulated.

I just do not hear the auto tune on this, any pro audio folks out there comment on this?

Sure his voice is being joshed out at times with the whoosh quick stop effect, but I think most are talking to the main vocals of the track, and I can understand why folks would think this due to the fluctuation in his voice during these parts, but I personally hear these fluctuations as being completely naturally done.

I am all for Prince using auto tune if he wants to achieve a certain vocal effect, but I just don't think this track is one of them.

peace

There's definitely Autotune or a similar product used on it.

There is absolutely auto-tune being used. Not because Prince can't hit the notes, but because it sounds kind of cool the way they used it. It's an effect, like delay, reverb, phase, distortion, pitch-shifting/tape modulation (Camille, Bob George). I love when he steps outside of his box. My favorite Prince era is 1982-1988, but I do love this new album!

I'm just saying...
