That was GREAT. Nice case of a vocalist knowing their assets and weakness and applying them in a unique and appealing manner. Nice guitar solo and breakdown too...very reminiscent of the hits version but in an acoustic manner.

It would serve Prince to give that a shout out vs. slamming it cuz he stole one of 'his precious children'.

Awesome cover! Thanks for the share. Cornells voice still is great form and one of my all time favorite vocalists for good reason... The greatest live performer of our times was is and always will be Prince.

One of the best rock vocalists ever IMO. Personally up there with Robert Plant and Steven Tyler. If you've got funk, you've got style.

There's also this remake of 17 Days by the group The And:
Soso. All you others say Hell Yea!!

Let face facts: the best cover of 17 Days is the one by Living Colour.

this idiom is not allowed on the org anymore, sorry. I find Dam Funk's version vastly superior to Living Colour's but that's again that James Brown vs. Bob Dylan thing I guess A COMPREHENSIVE PRINCE DISCOGRAPHY (work in progress ^^): https://sites.google.com/...scography/

I'm with you. The arragement on her version turned somethin "ok", into something HUGE. Didn't mean to marginilize her arragement, i was just commenting on the string part.

It's ok, not great. His tone is a little grating, however, considering this is a live vocal, it's a good performance.

Heard this today. Love it. It's a shame Prince can't sing this song like he means it. He almost always finds a way to screw it up. Sinead, as awful as she is, still made you feel like she meant every word. Now Cornell has really delivered on this classic as well.

Even the released version on Best of with Rosie is lacking. She however knocks it out of the park strange but true The greatest live performer of our times was is and always will be Prince.
