It's my opinion that Prince is still searching, and is struggling a lot with self-doubt.

Yeah, you may very well be right. Fanaticism is often a cover for deep insecurity.

Bringin to the table, explain yourself please

Ok someone won the dumb award of the dumbest thread today...

basically you would wish upon an artist to feel pain rather than joy so that he could make u feel better about your music...

eek

im with u...kind of like zeliara hoping prince does drugs and be dirty so he'll be attracted to her

Wishing for it and observing that great music comes out of it is not the same.

Nirvana made music with feeling and edge - and I wouldn't wish for Kurt Cobain to not have been in a better place mentally.

Yeah that was my point initially. Not wishing anguish on anyone. But if someone is truly aware as maybe they once were I feel they will always be in a certain amount of pain. Within themselves and with what surrounds them. Prince was once tortured. Tortured by his search for God for love for self love and for the meaning of it all. It seems now he drowns that with a constant party mentality. I miss the deeper Prince that's pretty much the point.

All right, I'll try. It was just a reply to someone else's claim to the same, so it is not a subject of much elaboration for me. But okay.

.

I'm just talking about the psychological phenomenon of clinging to simplistic answers or truths about life, the world, politics, God etc. Instead of acknowledging complexity. Sometimes simple answers lures the insecure minds, as many have told themselves after for instance coming out of some cult or the like. Simplicity and cocksureness provides a safe haven without doubt.

.

I am not sure if I am making any sense. English is not my first language, and I am late for work biggrin
