at my 1rst prince concert eye didn't notice but by the 3rd going n2 the 5th, eye noticed he NEVER made eye contact, with the ppl.
but he was looking, bcause any...ANY, different dance, wave, or chanting going on different from the crowd, u could guarantee that u were going 2 get a LASER BEAM GLARE from the man himself, usually followed by the widest grin.
Prince liked the different.

eye got one of those glares by using binocculars n the front row.
eye scanned him from the feet up! stopped at his face...he turned and glared at me so hard eye dropped the glasses.
eye was scared 2 use them any more that night, since eye was right at the stage, and could c him clearly.
eye kept them around my neck, and he laughed every time he looked at me.
eye had 2 look down. Prince has some awesome eye POWER!

OMG - if he's wondering about the "ugly" outfits then he only has himself to blame coz alot of those people are emulating him thru his many stages of looks.

Of course he looks at his audience, I was lucky enuff to have a few "moments" as was my friend.

I think he feeds off of the vibes from audiences - if he didn't then he would be a studio muscian only

There was a thread in the celebration 2003 forum from one of the Paisley ppl who helped coordinate the celebration. She said that a specific request was made that children be placed in the front row. Maybe Prince had his own reasons for wanting to see children in the front row instead of fans.

I've read posts here and on the old org from fans standing outside of clubs and at Paisley Park who said ppl were hand-picked for their appearance to get into the party. In the 90s, I can't remember exactly when, there was a big fuss over the way young pretty chicks were being picked to enter the Paisley parties while guys and ladies who didn't meet the standards were left outside.

I got one of em glares for deliberately standing when he told everyone to sit down.
(I wasn't blocking anyone's veiw, mind you. I'm not rude. My seat was right by the isle.)

I think the feedback he gets from his audience means a great deal to him. Yes - I think he takes a look.
