WB would have to approve so Jay-Z would have to reach deeper into his pockets for that to happen.

Yep, would keep paying £26 a month for that. Or for the three or four years it lasts, anyway. [Edited 9/19/15 13:43pm]

A song a week is fine with me. Thats 52 songs a year or 5 albums!! That would be AWESOME!! Actually though I wish he had his own website and sold them for $.99 each though instead of tidal. If he had 10,000 downloads per week worldwide which is very reasonable that $514,800 per year and I think he would have more than 10,000 per week worldwide. He can't just pop a song out in the vault. It's on old Ampex tapes and has to mixed first. The tape has to be baked and hope the tape binding didn't turn into mush

Let's not forget the entire song would also be reworked musically, vocally, and all swears words will turn to into duck, itch, brass, or just silenced out completey........ "You always get the dream that you deserve, from what you value the most" -Prince 2013

We don't know that. The status of WB years vault material under the new deal remains unknown. Anyway the WB albums are on Tidal so if WB can have a share on those they can have on other stuff. + ur comment is nonsense anyway, if Wb is entitled to distribution rights for vault material, Prince would have to share a share with WB but Tidal wouldn't have to pay more. Most stuff was mixed down to a two-track once the session was finished. Always cry 4 love, never cry 4 pain.

Tidal's WB albums, like on Itunes and everywhere before since the 2014 deal, are credited (p) NPG Records, Inc. under exclusive license to Warner Bros. Records Inc. Obviously licencing deals nowadays include streaming as well as websites. Militant would be more able than I to clear this though, since he's on a label: it's possible that having to credit the licence/ownership doesn't imply paying the label and that the money goes only to the artist in the case of streaming, but given how it's the record companies, not the artists, that got in legal disputes with sites such as Deezer, I doubt it. Streaming websites, oppositely to the radio, are direct competition to record sales, so it'd make sense that labels get their share. As for whether Prince pays his share to WB (if the sites don't pay it directly to them), well obviously if he won't pay he'll get sued and he'll lose, so I don't really see what was the purpose of your post. It's not like Prince lives in Afghanistan, there are clear laws regarding those things in the United States and it's not like Prince can decide not to pay his share and get away with it if he's contractually obliged to do so. You are just rambling on and on. I've already made my point 3 times and you misunderstood it completely.

Can you quit talking like you know what you're talking about?
Thanks! | |

If all he can get is a monthly subscription which people cancel once they figure how to download thge files, what incentive would Prince have to empty the vault on something like Tidal? Only hardcore fans would care about them anyway. He would be better off doing NPGMC or something similar with a hefty membership price for access and downloads.
