imo, the point is not whether prince lived up to what people think of his 'best' with this latest album, the point is that there is a BIG difference between criticism and the kind of childishly insulting remarks that have been made about the album ad nauseum since even before its release.

. A general requirement for being a mod is that you can remove your subjectivity and appreciate the opinions of others if they differ from your own. Good to know you realize your shortcomings there. . Not every album or every song Prince produces is a gem. And that's why this is a discussion forum and not a blindly-worship-Prince-without-criticism-like-a-purple-sheep forum. If I pay for music I don't like then you can bet I'll discuss it here. Prince can handle the critique, plus he doesn't care what any of us thinks anyway. Including you.

When I used to look through the 12 inches and albums in HMV or Virgin Megastore I recall Primus was right before Prince... that's the closest I can get to a link. Great basswork as well mind you... Dunno, HataH appears to be coming down off summat would be my best bet.

It was officially released in the UK, that's true. I hate to have to tell you this, but music released officially in other countries still counts as having been bought through official channels. Also, it doesn't matter who has been a fan longer. NKOTB sold more than Prince in their biggest year, so does that mean they're better? Hell no. Likewise, being a fan longer doesn't necessarily make you smarter or more informed. You might be, but based on this nonsense thread I'd say the odds are against it.
