Have to admit, this song just has a very cool vibe to it, actually one of my favs sonically on the album and a great lead in to track 10 "You always get the dream that you deserve, from what you value the most" -Prince 2013

No.
Just Josh playing with his software. Prince's instrumentation should've been saved for something worth listening to.

"experimental" I got two sides... and they're both friends.

Sounds like something you'd hear in a cheap arcade video game. If this didn't have Prince's name behind it we would literally laugh at this track. I got two sides... and they're both friends.

Embarrassing. And shitty. "Drop that stereo before I blow your Goddamn nuts off, asshole!"

It's a skip track for sure. [Edited 9/15/15 14:59pm]

Could be why I love it, sounds like I am playing space harrier on sega genesis.
One of the best guitar solos on the ablum is on this song. "You always get the dream that you deserve, from what you value the most" -Prince 2013

It's fun like that Barbra Streisand song. I wish Lianne's voice wasn't distorted so that I could hear "Mr Nelson" loud and clear throughtout the entire track. What?

It's a fun little soundscape, nothing that could not have remained unreleased but still functions as a compressed homage to AOA -- which deserves it.

i would prefer if the second, faster part was a separate track, a lot longer and more fleshed out with more prince guitar soloing - something kin to Alexa De Paris meets Santana. he seems scared to stretch songs out on albums recently (when there is no need to edit down as it's all digitial)

What makes me so frustrated is that keeps great songs like 2y2d for himself and releases garbage like Mr. Nelson on his new album Welcome 2 The Dawn

We aren't ready for 2Y2D yet "You always get the dream that you deserve, from what you value the most" -Prince 2013

Mr. Nelson... For all time I am with you, you are with me.

I actually like this in the context of the album. Plus, it reminds me of the fun little storyline on AOA.

In the end it is truly a waste of space. Even if the first part is kinda cool the second half is just nonsense. I agree with someone else who questioned why the second half turns into a bad 80s car chase scene!?!! Hahaha so true The greatest live performer of our times was is and always will be Prince.

If he was keen to release this why not put out a Clouds maxi single last year or throw it on Soundcloud not on his new album. Be like putting one of the Cream remixes on the Symbol album

but i think in a way, that's the concept of hitnrun, it's whatever he feels like releasing without any pressure to make the perfect album - i for one like the freedom it could/should give him. It remains to be seen if the other phases live up to the promise - but why not have an 8 minute EDM track that really goes somewhere instead of these very abrupt endings that he seems to do these days - remember the 1999 era all the songs seemed to go on forever (but in a good way!). i suppose he isn't quite free of the power of the people to dictate the lenght of songs (their attention span).

It works well within the framework of the album, it is catchy, and leads into 1000 X's & O's nicely. I will also go as far to say in a few weeks folks will be posting how this song has grown on them. I think its a cool track, especially the guitar solo. The last half has a sort of techno feel to it.
peace

this is the only song on the album that is actually growing on me...maybe because i loved Clouds so much...after 1000000 dollar show and shut this down, i skip all the way to Mr. Nelson...then after Mr. Nelson, im done

The beat and instrumental are great... It's just there were no lyrics to go with it...

I like "Clouds" a lot so I just added this to a mix cd and put it right afterwards.

Love the vibe to this song, which is actually just an instrumental with some of Lianne's AOA voiceovers mixed in. I was hoping to hear Lianne sing on this track because she has a really CD out herself, so that was dissappointing. But this song is still nice on it's own merrit. POSITIVITY!!!

Her new album is astounding, especially the first half, highly recommend it if you have not picked it up yet. "You always get the dream that you deserve, from what you value the most" -Prince 2013

Along with This Could B Us, Mr Nelson shouldn't be on this album, it doesn't do enough to justify it's position. Clouds was an amazing track and this isn't.
Josh tries, there are stylistic switch ups and a million tricks, but really, Clouds should have got a single release and we could have had a nice little EP with this on that we could listen to once in a blue moon, rather than having it on a full blown album release.
It also reminds me of how underused Lianne Le Havas was on AOA, seeing as her voice is amazing and she is reduced to telling stories rather than pouring that honey all over the AOA tracks.
Another song that Prince overheard whilst coming back from the toilet on between sessions for the new 3rdeyegirl album, heard Josh's remix and thought, this needs a bit of life, let me plug in my guitar and knock off a Santana solo to try to elevate this somehow. Nice try but it doesn't quite come off.
