Got mine at Target yesterday (in NC).

Went in the am and they had the pricetag on the new music rack but no CDs. Called before I went back in the afternoon and they had to find them in the back... the staff didn't know why they weren't out. So... if you don't see them ask someone

I shop at Walmart for other stuff, but for Prince's CDs I always go to the same locally owned hole-in-the-wall store. They had it for $11.99. I like the packaging and booklet. And of course the fro-tastic CD art.

Did you really think a Walmart employee knew what they were talking about?

The last time I went into Walmart the woman checking-out in front of me dropped her milk and it spilled everywhere. Four "associates" walked over, stood there, and did nothing.

I had to tell them what to do, including get a mop, put out caution signs, etc.

And someone asked where the cd was available...I found it at the Eden Prairie Target and the Electric Fetus' website said they had it in south Mpls.

well i didnt get anywhere with walmart. but if you want to get online, try deep discount.com. its like 13$ there. but an indie music store here has it for 15$ so thats all i know.

i did download it free a couple days ago but its gone now. of course i dont take avangtage of artists like that unless its hard to get o sold for a ridiculous amount. plus its nice to preview it.

Found a sealed copy at the Goodwill today for 99 cents. I'll wait until it is 50% off and go back and get it. Maybe. Could use a new coaster. The discs from the last two are pretty worn out.

It is ridiculous because I have in-depth knowledge of the costs and margins associated with the production, distribution, and marketing of a CD. I also understand price elasticity in the U.S. retail markets.

Consideration of these salient economic factors with the actual and perceived artistic value of the product (albeit subjective) and the range of alternate channels makes this gouging retail price like this make even less sense.

I paid $11.88 at WalMart. That is a substantial difference from $13.99 at Target and Best Buy - and my case in point.

You know what?!? I went to walmart again and forgot to look... again! I was too busy buying my $1 dresses and searching for bargains.
