It's not if you're using the HD streaming with Tidal, that's CD quality.

Prince is the only artist I will still buy physical music from. It's the collector in me, I like having his entire discography on the shelf. I have a friend who is the same way with Pearl Jam, and it bothered him that I didn't have the physical copy of 20Ten so he got it off eBay for me for my birthday last year ha ha. Now that's a good friend!

For a CD you have to pay just once. For a streaming service you have to pay every month to listen to the music. It isn't yours, it's just rented. Big difference.

For sure. I agree with you. I was solely talking about the claim of "better quality". Bear in mind that a lossless DRM-free version available to purchase digitally also is yours to keep forever for a one time fee and is also CD quality.

They had a load of them at Target, too. It was an accident because when I tried to buy it their registers wouldn't allow it. There was an error message stating that it couldn't be sold till tomorrow. I could def see that there was a fair-sized booklet, though. They gave me $9 in "apology coupons" so I guess I'll only be paying $5 for it tomorrow.

At least they gave you an extra $3. They only gave me $6 of apology coupons. biggrin

You're still streaming it. Can you play if offline? Will you own it if tidal closes down? I can play my CD. I also think it sounds better. Plus I own it, I'm not merely licensed to listen to a stream.

I just went to WalMart to pick up my copy...it was not there, and they knew nothing about it. THey said new CDs come out on Fridays now, so maybe it will be there then?

I went to WalMart and Target website and neither show anything about it.

Can we buy this in stores yet? If so, where?

I grabbed mine at Target first thing Monday morning. Their system wouldn't let me buy it Sunday even though it was on the shelf. The error on the register said the street date was 9/14/2015. Also, it sounds better to me than the higher quality option on Tidal. For a fact.

Yes, people still care about physical copies. Of course they do.

Not for everyone, but it's pretty obvious that the CD hasn't died like they predicted it would.
