Probably the Rainbow Children. I hated the lyrics, but I loved the music, so I was torn. I grew to accept the lyrics as mostly trash and just enjoy the music. The music is awesome, some of his best IMO.

The first time I heard SOTT (it was 1990-91 and I was 14) and I didn't understand the music. I didn't dislike it but I didn't understand what I was hearing. It took me a week or 2 to figure it out. At about that same time I wasn't so much into anything from FY to 1999, nor GB. It took me some time to really get into those records. . After that I loved every Prince album nearly but NPS took me by surprise. The first few days I was like "OK cool but nothing new under the sun", then I soon realized that I was groovin' on the thing all the live long day . Then came PE. At first I really hated it. I hated the whole thing save Guitar. It took a few months but songs started to grow on me and even though I stiff feel this album doesn't work well as an ensemble, and there r some songs I still dislike, I truly fell in love with some of its segments, but it was really song by song, over the course of the next 2 years.
