How do you use "THOT"? It stands for "That Ho Over There", right? So do you say "Look at that THOT"? If so, aren't you really saying ""Look at that That Ho Over There"? Isn't that repetitive?

It reminds me of "FKA Twigs". That actually stands for "Formerly Knoiwn As Twigs". Which means, of course, that her name IS NOT Twigs. It USED to be Twigs. So if you call her Twigs, you're not calling her by her CURRENT name. But no one knows what her name is NOW. We only know that it USED TO BE Twigs. That's what she was Formerly Known As. She needs to tell us her CURRENT name, or give us a symbol or something, so we can properly refer to her in the present tense.

Now excuse me while I go yell at some kids that are on my lawn. grandpa

giggle that's a kinda grumpy post

Actually THOT can stand for: That Ho Over There, The Ho Over There, Those Hoes Over There and Them Hoes Over There. Now back to this PP party. Did Prince really not perform and later call his new "Purple Collective" a bunch of Those Hoes Over There, publicly on Twitter, no less???

[Edited 9/10/15 11:00am]

Even more confusing. Saying, "Look at THOTS!" sounds weird and is repetitive. Saying, "Look - THOTS!" is grammatically incorrect because you're saying "Look! Those Hos Over There!" That's a sentence fragment.

Saying "You are a bunch of THOTS!" means "You are a bunch of Those Hos Over There!" WTF? Makes no sense.

I can't think of a grammatically correct way to use "THOTS" regardless if the first "T" stands for "That", "Those", "The" or "Them". And honestly, Them Hos Over There doesn't work in any standard English format.

I have to go now. There's a bunch of teenagers congregating across the street and it scares me.

You can always count on the Org to over-interpret things to death.

He gave us a whole album to have an hissy fit over, looking for more feels like gluttony.

We don't even know if he tweeted this himself or if he was actually chased by said "THOTs" plus for all we know whoever used the term may not have meant only women.

Personally, I don't care but just the thought of Prince getting all pissy and complaining on Twitter about not performing because of his Purple Collective of THOTS, tickles the hell out of me.

I don't think it's appropriate for any man to call a woman a ho. It's just wrong. I excuse the misogyny in Prince's early music partially because of his age, and because the quality of the music makes me set aside my standards and ethics. It's hypocritical of me. I struggle with the same thing when I listen to music like Kendrick's new album...how many times can someone say "bitch" on one album?

That being said, everyone makes jokes they later regret. If Prince did delete it, maybe he realized it wasn't a respectful thing to say. If that's the case, more power to him.

Now THAT being said, I can't believe we're discussing this. There's a new Prince album! Talk about the music.

"Straight Outta Compton" is one of the biggest grossing films of the year, celebrating an album that came out nearly 30 years ago. And in this thread, we have people complaining about Prince using one word that's PG-rated compared to aforementioned album.

Funny. Dr. Dre is only 7 years younger than Prince, BTW. Don't see anyone saying any of the language on his album isn't "age-appropriate". And he literally made a billion dollars last year.

So you're saying Prince was trying to be funny about his new album coming out and play on the word (thoughts) and used the acronym (t.h.o.t.s) instead?

Therefore, "unintentionally" referred to his purple collective as a "club full of Those Hoes Over There".

shrug It's still funny as hell to me!

For me, it's not the language used (that's just embarassing, but to be honest, I'm used to Prince being embarrasing after many years of experience).

What I feel is completely inappropriate is that this tweet was sent out regarding people that had paid to come to his dance party.

Imagine if you'd have gone to that dance party and the day after, he'd tweeted 'Didn't want to perform after I saw that there were retarded org moderators in the audience'.

Would you seriously not feel offended because, hey! it's only one word! Or would you (most likely) be thinking 'Shit, is that about me? Does he mean me by that comment?'

Because I guarantee that is how those attendees who paid their good money to go are feeling today. If he felt the way he did, fine. If he didn't want to attend his own event, whatever, he's perfectly in his insane right to do that if he wants. But to broadcast such an offensive message about his audience publicily is disgraceful.

And let's face it, he needs to remember the old adage that one finger pointing forward means there's 4 pointing right back at him. 'Wanna be famous, fancy being this week's protege?', he's the biggest ho in Minneapolis! lol

blah blah blah

He tweeted something?

Then deleted it?

And all that's true?

Then P was just himself. Unable to represent the entity some expect him to be.

He did not hire a PR team or even a PR person.

Now even for an event at his own Park he needs to go into excuses?

Pfff....!

Pills and thrills and daffodils will kill... If you don't believe me or don't get it, I don't have time to try to convince you, sorry.

He has been referring to woman as hoes in music since DMSR. I am sure it has been in his vocabulary since he was teen. Changing the slang does not mean anything it is still a put down.

Is this or is this not what he tweeted?

Whatchu 'possed 2 think in a club full of t.h.o.t.s.?

That's just a lyric from the album, no more and no less. I doubt whether anyone at Paisley would have thought this was about them. There's no indication that he said anything about his audience.

If somebody did think that, speak now or forever hold your peace.

This thread is pretty ridiculous to be frank.

Remember when tony m convinced prince he wasnt black .. So prince started saying "motherfucker" every other word in every song .. Even pretty ones like "count the days" ... All in an effort to be legit black

Remember when rap was concious and spoke about truth and real issues but then the illuminati agenda took over and surprise surprise ... Now all rappers talk about is hoes and bling in an effort to degrade the value of the genre

Now p hangs with ignorant rapper jay z and now prince calls his own fans hoes cuz prince is stupid enough to think dropping ignorant slang makes him more black

Prince did not hang onto his soul as he advised on lovesexy .. He sho nuff be hanging onto his money and vanity ... I miss the prince that truly did his own thing ... This effot is a real coorporate sellout of a record .. Thus the degrading language he uses

I didn't see the actual tweet. In the original post of this thread, it suggested that something further was said. Since then the content of the tweet was posted, and it seems to simply be the song lyric. Rendering this entire thread moot.

So I think it's probably time we sent this thread down to Locksville, USA.
