Shh!! Dont say that too loud in here unless you want trouble... We live in a society that doesnt want to hear the truth today if it is not pretty. Those who actually have the intestinal fortitude to speak out are condemned as evil and mean. Save America - Stop Illegal Immigration. God bless America. PEACE

But there is no evidence of Josh much more than that [Edited 9/7/15 13:23pm] Save America - Stop Illegal Immigration. God bless America. PEACE

As a person, from what I've heard and read, I think Josh is a sincere, eager, and honest person (same goes for Hannah). I think they'd do anything that Prince asked of them professionally, at any hour, and enjoy doing it. I think Prince sees a lot of his early self in Josh: young black man, handsome, musical, devoted to Jesus. It's that last one that got Josh so far into the inner circle…not the musical chops.

And THAT is where I have come to agree with the people who blamed religion (namely Larry and the JWs) for what they considered some lackluster Prince material around the late 90s. I still disagree with them on the JWs impact - Rainbow Children is the last masterpiece that he made in my opinion and that is the album that gets called a commercial for the Kingdom Hall. . You also say that if Prince works with a producer it should be Lenny Kravitz or Terence Trent D'Arby. © Bart Van Hemelen

We now know why Prince went over the top about Josh. He was obviously aware that this is a subpar release, but all the hype in the world doesn't make it sound better. In fact, it would have been better for Josh if Prince took more credit for the album.

If the album had been well received funksterr would still claim it's all Josh, but since the album didn't get a good reception it's suddenly all Prince The wooh is on the one!

I have a feeling Josh is going to become another Larry Graham. Talented, sure, but their influence on Prince's music is kinda annoying.

Neither one of you are making sense. I never said the album was all Prince. Maybe you two can type, but not read??? IDK.

If the material is widely panned, then Prince has made it known who is responsible but is still seen giving opportunity. Which then makes people long for the days when Prince was in the driver seat. Either way, Prince wins.

Josh did a pretty banging job on the album for someone who's still relatively new at the producing thing. He might just end up with a decent career after his Prince years are done. Change it one more time..

I don't think they are anything alike, especially that Prince was using his basement for Free Love and just in general I don't think Prince sees himself in Josh

It is fun to think that Prince is just sitting back, enjoying life, while teaching a bunch of kids how to be musicians and even producers. It is like he is running his own "School of Rock" at PPark.

I think to be fair thats exactly what this album is. I dont think Prince has taken it very seriously. Perhaps phase 2 is a Prince album that shows the students how it is really done.... Here's hoping anyway.

As other people are hinting but I want to make fully explicit, a lot of the reaction to Josh, AOA and HnR. SHO reminds me a lot of reaction to Larry and TRC. The threads back then are etched in my mind as early examples of haterdom on the web in general (in this respect some ORGers were true innovators but not in a good way). “I don't believe anything, but I have many suspicions.”
