There's nothing innovative about a few musicians in their 40s and 50s coming back together again. Even if they do make a new album it will always stand in the shadows of the old ones.

but what's wrong with nostalgia? Bruce Springsteen still tours with the E. Street Band and his fans love it.Veteran artists can't really be "innovative" these days, anyway.Prince may think that he still is,but he isn't.

Nothing wrong with Nostalgia, that is a part of life.
When Prince wrote Reflections, that is Nostalgia,
When Prince talked about some of the old classic soul music and some other music styles and bands that was Nostalgia

exactly...and Prince plays many of these old songs in concert anyway. Why not perform them with the people who he recorded them with in the first place?! Makes sense to me smile

Everybody's looking 4 the answers
How the story started and how it will end
What's the use in half a story, half a dream
U have 2 climb all of the steps in between......RIP Prince

The Revolution:

That last interview with Dr. Fink told me that Mr. Nelson was The Revolution.

He recorded everything first....or for other groups ("Kiss" was for Mazaratti)

Dez even said that he only added his vocas to "Littel Red Corvette", and Prince edited his solo.....

Just listen to those rehearsals. Prince is in full control. It's pretty clear who was the creative force.

Obviously you are correct... Prince is PRINCE! But...

What about all those wonderful/Unique sounds, melodies & Songs that he used to make?

I wonder why they just up and -

seemingly evaporated into thin air after 1987 ish?

Think:

Parade/UTCM (album + movie + tour)

Around the world in a day (album)

PURPLE RAIN (movie + album + tour)

1999 (album & tour).. You get the idea...

PRINCE is the Man but... You Really think it was ALL him? wink

I've seen every Prince tour since 1983. The Revolution were easily the best band that he ever had and Wendy & Lisa seemed to help bring out the best in him in the studio. 3rdEyeGirl are unfortunately at the other end of the spectrum. One listen to his latest weak album explains why people will continue to ask Prince about The Revolution. Notice that he still plays a lot of songs from that era even though he has released at least 2 dozen albums since then?
