My Computer fans, step up! That is one outstanding song! I love the little sounds that pop out at you. His new stuff just makes you curl your nose.
That ending part is just wonderous. Very positive tune. All you others say Hell Yea!!

It could have been so much more of a tune with Kate to the fore instead of buried in the mix.

Love the vibe of the song. Along with One of Us and The Love We Make, it gives that sort of ending feel an albums should have.

Yes - it was actually one of the songs that turned me from someone who listens to Prince to a true fan.

If you're a true Kate fan you'll hear her distinctive vocals buried in the mix a mile off. But I can see how casual or non-Bush fans would miss her vocals.

One of the few Emancipation songs that doesn't make me want to poop. "Drop that stereo before I blow your Goddamn nuts off, asshole!"

The great thing is that Kate has a song with a similar theme- Deeper Understanding. And as for My Computer, whether La Bush is buried in the mix or not, these two songs are like brother and sister, so it's only natural that she's on here.

^^I was just thinking the same thing, NorthC! I like both songs--very relevant to today's social climate.

He should have had her more prominent & harmonized around her. Would have been a great lead single & would have generated a load of positive publicity. The Oprah interview & awful Betcha By Golly Wow killed that album.

It's one of those "Prince" songs.
It's the kind of song most artists wouldn't write. Let alone release.

please.... I strongly disagree with you Matty...... the original version is amazing..... the 1989 album is brilliant like it was released back then.. the remake is poor... well that's just imho... Prince 4Ever.

I liked a lot of the newer versions on Directors Cut, although I do agree with you that The Sensual World was a masterpiece. [Edited 10/21/15 10:06am]

[Edited 10/21/15 10:06am] The version on The Directors Cut is actually the original. Kate wanted to put James Joyce's poem Flower of the Mountain to music, but was denied permission by the writer's heirs. When she finally did get permission, she decided to release the song as originally planned. But I think it's a good thing that the Joyce family were being difficult, because otherwise, we would never have had lines like "going deep south going down hmm yeah..." Kate at her sexiest.

Very cool song. I had also completely forgot she was on that track myself. When I check in with Emancipation, I am in the habit of putting on disc 2. Been too long since I've listened to discs 1 and 3.

Had it not been for this thread, I probably wouldn't know she sang on that track. Her voice is barely audible.
