She's definitely an admirer, knows more than the average listener about Prince. I'd like to hear more of her thoughts on him, what would she cite as evidence to prove her point that he's a genius. She totally slammed Beyonce... did she ever slide down a giant tongue in her show? Maybe she was thinking of Miley Cyrus. You do have to do more than simply take your clothes off to be truly subversive... you have to strip and challenge the status quo, run for office, or campaign for what you believe in. I wonder if Polly Harvey would strip if she was built like Beyonce? Let's smoke a fat one and contemplate that question. 😎

Tori Amos is brillant herself. She is a very strong, assertive woman and I admire her for her uniqueness. I loved her first album "Little Earthquakes." If you haven't heard it you should check it out. Boys For Pele and Strange Little Girls were also excellent. Her cover of "Real Men" is very thought provoking.

Tori is a true women. cool

Not only 90's cataloque...imho - one of her finest is "Scarlet's Walk" from 2002.

Earlier, there was a video of her covering Little Red Corvette, but somebody uploaded audio from august last year.

She did an awesome version of Purple Rain back in the day. I have it on some bootleg tape somewhere. I remember just her and the Piano and she just killed it!!

If you didn't understand what she was 'goin on about' and thought she was having a dig at Beyonce, then you really did miss the point she was trying to make.

She's quite intense in this interview, you wouldn't mess with her. Great insight.

Tori Amos was the first female vocalist I feel in love with. Her voice sounds like how I imagine heaven will sound like. Her 90's albums were completely subversive especially the Boys for Pele album. Lyrically it unhinged me, I didn't know women could write like that. It blew my mind and the music oh man the music was crazy. Barqoue modern pop with harpsichords and guitars?!! Who the fuck else does shit like that. We bag on Prince for not pushing the boundaries and trying something new like he did back in his hay day, Mrs. Amos could be charged with the same. I still love her but her last two albums have been pretty bland. But like with Prince I'm a fan for life and will alway support her music.

I like her. What happened to singers like Amerie and Ashanti while Beyonce was coming up. Why did Britney Spears shave her head?
What?

Tori for sure changed the way of how U look on piano as instrument and what U can do with it.

Her solo tours from 90's and after in 00's are so intense that nobody can top her in that.Symbotic relation between her and piano is really sometimes totally surrealistic and she set - for now - an unattainable standard..

Look at it ...find someone with this kind of passion...and just her and her girl piano.

Was it woirth enduring this entire clip for that bit on Pirince? Never respected her as an artist because she simply riips Kate Bush off entirely too much.

I always thought she was an annoying, pretentious gas bag.

I also considered being a Tori Amos fan a deal-breaker in relationships.

brit brit shaved her head so they couldn't test a single one of her hairs for cocaine use

(cocaine stays in the hair, it's even found in egyptian mummies' hair till these days)

since she was going through custody shit with kfed, right? at least, that's what i heard whistling

tori's albums Boys For Pele and From The Choirgirl Hotel, plus all their b-sides
are just about as good as it gets musically. FTCH fights for top album place in
my personal top 3 all the time.

her albums before that, i like most of them, but not everything. her albums

after, i like Venus a lot, but the rest is very, very patchy. i don't think i like a

single song on American Doll Possee or Night of Hunters. i think 2 songs on
the Beekeeper and 1 song on AATS and 2 on Strange Little Girls.

her latest album was better, a few very good tracks on that one and it seems

as though she's returning to herself again. she seemed like a different person,

like a robot for all those years since Venus.

prince put her song "sleeps with butterflies" -well, the video- up on one of his

websites. i can't remember what site it was. lotusflower, perhaps? or 3121?

Oh wow! That's way more serious than what I was thinking. I was trying to relate it to what Tori was saying - that for women there can be only one top dog - and that she, Britney, was feeling disposable (musically) about that time. Some of us will chop our hair in despair. That's why I was wondering. Thanks smile.

Tori and Kate are both talented musicians. Yes there voices are similar but I wouldn't say Tori rips off Kate. They have two very distinct styles. That's like saying D'Angelo rips off Prince.

I love both Kate and Tori, although I'm a much bigger Kate fan. I don't really see that many similarities between them.

Kate is far more whimsical and covers a wider range of emotions in her songwriting.
