I just returned from New york after seeing the Def Poetry Jam on Broadway. It was amazing!!! The poet, Georgia Me, did a poem about who inspired her to become a poet. It was PRINCE!!! I can't remember all that she said, but it was very clear that she was inspired by his sexy verses.

Hopefully someone else has seen this show and can give more detail. All I can say is that if you are in New York catch the show because the shout out to Prince is worth the money.

Let me clarify. The poem that talks about what inspired Georgis Me to start doing poetry was one of the best in the show (though that is hard to define because they were ALL fabulous). Her poem was intertwined with 2 other poems and the "chorus" of the 3 was worth the price of the show. The shout-outs to the people who inspired the poets to write was worthe the price of the show and since Prince was one of the inspirations . . .
