BEAUTIFUL STRANGE I have listened this song two days ago, and 'tis a great song, beautiful sung, beautiful musically, i love this song, for me is a rock kind of song it's in the vein of There is Lonely it will fit very well in the Come album.

I remember that VHS. I ordered it from his website, paid for it, got a postcard confirming receipt of my payment and informing me that it was delayed. Then proceeded to never send it to me. I still have that postcard, I ran across it recently. I've still never watched that video. | |

I never purchased it as I didn't have the internet at the time and wasn't even aware of its release: I got an audio copy from a friend a few months after release, then found a digital copy of the video a few years later. I really like the song. The BS VHS is a load of shite. It was broadcast as part of CH4's Prince night donkey years ago. Doug E mumbling, Chaka screaming and other stuffed turkey nonsense on the Cafe De Paris aftershow, the "interview" with Prince and Mel B taught us fuck all, and the video for the actual Beautiful Strange song is a bore. Nice collectable though.

Uhm... Are we talking about the Mel B interview in 1998? I remember seeing that on tv and that was the first time I heared a snippet of the song. Sounded pretty good, but I never heared a full version. But, in spite of that, when he played it live in the Melkweg in Amsterdam in 2011, it was absolutely muthafucking great!  | |

Beacuse I agree: This track is one of Prince's finest. I like Prince in his darker mood. "Strangely beautiful, beautiful strange" - great paradoxical lyrics.
