I'm not sure I'd class him emailing them a couple of tracks to add guitar and piano to as them being involved again - but I know what you mean, it was an underwhelming return that didn't satisfy any itch. . . [Edited 8/30/15 4:11am]

I disagree as well. Planet Earth is my second favorite Prince album in the 2000s after The Rainbow Children. "Just like the sun, the Rainbow Children rise."
"We had fun, didn't we?" -Prince (1958-2016) 4ever in my life

Trent Reznor just said in a recent interview that he thought Planet Earth was garbage...

Planet Earth is one of my favourite post-00's Prince albums. Absolutely love the title track, All The Midnights and The One U Wanna C.

Planet Earth Is The Worst! Not anymore, it isn't. We don’t mourn artists because we knew them. We mourn them because they helped us know ourselves.

Ha... yeah, it is.... HitNRun is miles ahead of Planet Earth, which now sounds more tired, bored and pedestrian than ever....
Nobody has to love HitNRun, of course... but isn't it more interesting to have our man trying something he's not done before (even if you think he fails at it), than just turfing out the same old same old.... half-baked rocker/ballad/funk song/ etc...?
For me he sounds almost completely uninvolved on Planet Earth.,.. phoning it in.. on HitNRun he's engaged again, he's having fun, trying stuff, seeing what sticks.... always more valid, in my opinion anyway.....

HitnRun ain't a good album... But at least it ain't as boring as PLANET EARTH.

I'm not a fan of Planet Earth (or, as I like to call it, Planet Urf). But it has some very nice moments that (almost) salvage the whole.
HITNRUN is just embarrassing. [Edited 9/10/15 8:38am] We don’t mourn artists because we knew them. We mourn them because they helped us know ourselves.

It's true Planet Earth has some nice moments, over all as an album it is very boring though...
HitnRun has some nice moments as well, I like 1000 X's & O's and Hardrocklover, the rest is all discombobulated and is an electronic mess. June is ok but it's one of those songs that is just so so u end up forgetting about it...

Future Baby Mama, masterpiece, Somewhere Here, masterpiece, Planet Earth, great song, Purple Rain quality. A song about something instead of wanting to be free and or sexing young hootchies. All you others say Hell Yea!!
