Here's a question I keep repeating and yet no fam is willing to answer: do you honestly look back upon the period 1996-now and think "well that went as well as it could have gone"? Do you honestly think that no improvements could be made?

.

My answer: of course, improvements could have been made in the period 1996-today.

.

But: the same is true for the period 1978-1995. What about a random selection of wrong decisions within this "golden" period?

.

- The lack of promotion for ATWIAD.

- The UTCM movie (at least, he could have hired some professionals to shoot the movie rather than trying to be a writer and director on top of his crappy acting).

- Not touring SOTT in the US (he released one of the best 80s albums and made nearly nothing out of it).

- The huge costs for the Lovesexy tour.

- The GB movie (honestly, he should have shelved THIS project).

- The name change in 1993.

- Announcing TGE in 1994, although things were not settled with WBR, then releasing the album one year later with limited promotional effort from him.

.

One could probably expand this list.

Great points. The notion that Prince could do no wrong in the so called "golden years" is a myth IMO.

But I have to admit that asking myself the kinds of questions that Bart is directing to so called "fams" almost never occurs to me unless somebody like him brings it up. The way I sum it up is: 1. It's his life and 2. It's just entertainment. To me the things that he's always having a meltdown about are interesting for about five minutes.

So who's really the "fam" here? lol

too sleepy to spell edit.

Prince, in you I found a kindred spirit...Rest In Paradise.

Actually, I never said that and may well join Tidal, if only for a couple of weeks or months.

So should you. And so should your mama.

I answered Bart's question that he claims no one answers.

Surprise: he didn't acknowledge. Cue to next week, when he'll ask the same question and ignore whoever answered.

So Prince wants to keep us guessing.

No, he simply thought that hiring a decent PR department or even a PR person was too much of a cost.
