Diamonds And Pearls-tour, Cologne, Germany, 2 june 1992. I had been waiting for the live-experience about five years. I was SO excited, wearing a purple shirt and black pants. I was 17 years old and I remember the show quite well. The moment he came out of his capsule during "Thunder" to start the show, I thought I would pass out. It was so unbelievably cool. I remember "Damn U" and "Sexy MF", both of which weren´t released at the time. I remember the bed-thing with Diamond and Pearl (I had a crush on them) and I remember Carmen Elektra opening the show.

Best concert experiences were the aftershow in Cologne in december 1998 and ONA in Oberhausen last year.

My first experience was at the age of 15, the Sign O' The Times tour. I wasn't allowed to go by myself from my parents, but a good friend of them was going and I could come along. It was my first major concert. I remember the opening song (SOTT), the stage was all smoky with colored lights and then I heard his guitar tearing it up and then suddenly he jumped into the spotlight and the beat joined in. That was such an exciting moment for me, I will never forget that!
RIP Prince: thank U 4 a funky Time...

Crapola. Nude Tour, London, summer 1990. I wanted something to rival SOTT and Lovesexy concerts. Although I must add that Prince didn't owe these to me!

The first 20 minutes were actually brilliant. I remember one reviewer saying the first 20 minutes were the greatest 20 minutes of a concert he's ever seen.

But it just got slowed down and a bit boring after that, so I felt let down. Still, it was great to see Prince live for the first time.

I went to this show too, but i was only 9! My nan knew how much I wazs in to Prince and decided 2 take me, my mum and my cousin-i remember being so embarrassed at what he was doing to the mic with my nan in the audience. Don't remember much about the music 'cept question of you, but DO remember wearing an outfit that matched my cousins...nan bought them specially

2045

My first experience was at the Metrodome in Minneapolis, when Prince performed "Diamonds and Pearls" and "Baby, I'm a Star" at the opening of the Special Olympics (year?). We were supposed to sit way up in the rafter over center field, but when we entered the dome, officials were asking people to fill in the seats behind the stage, which was set up at home plate. Needless to say, we jumped at the chance! We were in the front row, right behind the stage. We couldn;t see enough of the performance, but we had the best view in the house. We saw the band hanging around, watched the crew handling Prince's yellow cloud guitar, which at the time seemed impossibly small, and got to wave to Rosie Gaines. We also noticed the numerous LARGE boxes marked PRN Productions, with a picture of the original symbol tamborines. I so hoped that he woudl toss them out to us, but no such luck. They remained untouched. IT was brief, but memorable. My second was at Glam Slam - Minneapolis, when Prince previewed the Gold Experience material during a benefit concert for the AMerican Kidney foundation (I think.) It was standing room only, and I was right at the stage. Prince was wearing a black lace body suit, revealing more than I was interested in seeing. Also, he had a scarf around his neck which read "Shhh!" On two occassions, Prince (Then "prince") roamed across the front of the stage, and shook my hand - I remember thinking that his skin was incredibly soft, and that it seemed as if he did not have any calluses, which seem normal for someone who plays guitar. What a great night!

I had tickets to see him in Florida in 1994 but couldn't go and I didn't get to see him until Jan. of 98.
Everyone that got to see him from the early 80"s and before are so lucky. I wish I could turn back the time.

Wow! so like my first experience, mine was at Berlin on the same tour, a few days/weeks before.

It was a beautiful sunny evening in the Waldbuhne, really warm, I'd waited for years (at the time i lived in germany but was t school in england, and every tour he did, he did germany when i was in england, and england when i was in germany). it just blew me away completely, particularly Sexy MF which i heard for the first time.

'what was your first Prince concert experince like' details

It was March, 7th 1985 As part of their Purple Rain Tour. I was only 14 years old at the time.
Location: Pan Am Center Las Cruces, New Mexico

A historic moment in time and Prince kicked much ass, as he and the Revolution were at the peak of their power and popularity. Revolution in full throttle. Before the show it was cool with all the energy about, but when showtime came I was up a bit and to the left, and could see down behind the drums and the whole back stage, and right before the show the band Mark, Wendy, Matt, Bobby, Lisa, all just strolled to their intruments real casual. and looked around. The whole place was dark Then to the right side of the stage their was a hallway with light on and then stairs that lead down well as soon as Prince entered the building he was surrounded with alot of bodyguards, like at least eight and he in the middle it was the impressive. The Revolution casually walk to their places, and Prince shows up separate and surrounded by 8 or 12 bodyguards. Nice entrance if ya can afford it. wink Well during the show Prince jammed on as usual, but one part that stood out to me was when Prince had done 3 songs and was leaving for an outfit change, when a young black girl in the 3rd row she was about 18 or 19. She had made her way past the 3rd row and was stretching up and over the crowd that was at one time the first and second rows, with her right hand towards the stage, and most of her body was down in the crowd, with just like her shoulder up and half of herself up, and she was trying real hard to reach as far as she could. When he noticed her, he stopped from running off stage. Prince must of thought she was stuck and walk over to her squatted and grabbed her hand, and said something. She did not respond. She just made a face and started crying alot and closed her eyes. He then realized she was okay. She just wanted to touch his hand, and he abruptly stood up and continued off stage to change for the next part of the show. The rest of the show continued on real cool, at the end Purple Rain was played for a long time. So long, that the people who were waiting to pick up people, like parents, sisters, brothers, cops, bakers, and mailmen, were all let in during Purple Rain. After the music faded out and the main house lights were turned on, people just kinda walked out real slow. There was some small chatter outside of the building, and then lots of lights and sirens, as Prince's tour bus came from around the building at a fast speed headed for the hotel. An Elvis moment forsure. Ladies and gentlemen prince has left the arena. The most talked about man in america, and you could feel it in the air. Electric and amazing.

1981 - Washington, DC Warner Theater

I was totally mesmerized. I was certainly not expecting what I got. It was pure rapture. It was Prince and The Time. The theater wasn't totally sold out and my seats were in the balcony. I was able to move the orchestra section when Prince hit the stage. I've been hooked ever since.

Detroit 1988 LoveSexy Tour, It was Devils night(the night before Halloween). I was 16 and very much over excited, so I have forgotten a whole lot of the experience (my experimentation with weed at that time didn't help I'm sure). I remember Prince sprawled out on the top of his Thunderbird with a big cloth drapped over him... when they unveiled him (very dramatically) he was sprawled out on the hood of the car with his back arched in a very sexual position...very sexy and very cool. The piano medley was memorable because the piano was on a platform that raised way above the stage. Prince playing basketball, Prince messing with Cat on the bed, Sheila's BAD ass drum solo. I also remember the confused look on everyones face when he did the little pimp skit to Bob George. Another thing that stands out in my mind was his energy, he was always moving, lots of dancing, jumping, spinning and grinding very much different than the Jam of the Year and ONA tours I've been 2. Being the age that I was, I was more excited about Prince's actual apperance then the music...I was too busy screaming all the naugty things I wanted to do to his body:nuts:. That was my first ever concert experience...I've been hooked since:nod:
