I was watching the latest Vince Vaughn movie and it hit me. There's a good chance Prince got his 'fro idea from The Rock, Dwayne Johnson. In the movie "Be Cool", Vince Vaughn plays a pimp with The Rock as the muscle. The Rock sports an Afro in the movie. Perhaps Prince sees The Rock and sees himself.

I think you're failing to consider the very marked resemblance between the two men physically--I mean, if Prince wanted to know how any look would work on a man of his own build and size... I can think of no better approximation than Dwayne Johnson. There's practically twins.

God forbid Johnson realizes that it could work just as well the other way and come out in some butt-out pants and a typhoon.

Wasnt it coz he boned /want to Andy Hello and she got him into the whole au naturelle? The fro is cool - I just wish he'd done it sooner after all those years straightening and relaxing it.

Obviously this whole thread is ridiculous--but if we want to play "where Dwayne Johnson might have seen a 'fro" look at his father, Rocky Johnson:

It's not huge, but it's comparable to what I saw in stills from Be Cool (a film I never actually saw, in spite of my liking Get Shorty).
