"Cruicial" album?

Just saw this in the music store today, looks like it's an album of various outtakes, think it said it was released in 1990. Decided not to get it because it was really pricey, does anyone know much about it? it was just called "Crucial"

We're here, might as well get into it.

Outtakes. Most of it's been released in better quality since way back then (a lot of it officially, though in slightly different versions)--and nearly always with different titles Red Riding Hood=Can I Play With U. Fantastic=Power Fantastic. Break My Heart=Last Heart. Can't Stop=Can't Stop This Feeling I Got. Welcome 2 the Rat Race=Large Room With No Light. Crucial Love is just the intro to Power Fantastic. Also, Amandla (listed as The H Man) has nothing to do with Prince--it's a released Miles Davis track.

.

I really liked it when I first picked it up (back in the 90s) but there's no reason to get it now. Any of the big collections--like Work It! or The Work (probably fairly easy to download) has everything on it, in better quality--and there've been more recent leaks of some things (like fuller versions of Can I Play With U) since Crucial's release.

No. Don't get it. There is simply no reason to pay for bootlegs. And read response 1 again.

the 2 versions of Crucial are killer but download Work It 2.0 instead

I used to have it biggrin

I wonder if any of those old, classic crappy sounding boots have any value on the market today. I mean they're totally obsolete but on the other hand I guess they must be pretty rare by now.

I have "Small Club" on vinyl and I've always wondered what it's worth as a collectible. I'm guessing $500 but I could be way off.

I doubt it. 5 years ago I couldn't get more than 100 euros each for ONA and RaveIn2, even less for my Paisley Park CD's.

Yeah, but "Small Club" is the best show ever in many people's eyes. And my four-LP pressing is from 1989 or so. It's in a large box too, not a sleeve, with that famous pic of Prince jumping in the air while wearing a black thong. And side 8 is the encore of a Lovesexy show (can't remember which one, but maybe the show from that same night).

It's gotta be worth a pretty penny!
