PE and AOA no longer available to Stream on Tidal i Was just listening to AOA through Tidal at the gym and after Articial Cage it stopped. When I checked what was wrong I got the message "The record label does not allow this track to be streamed".
I checked and it's the Same message for all tracks on both AOA and PE. All other Warner albums as of now are still available. as is Hardrocklover and th other more recent single releases. [Edited 8/14/15 12:27pm] [Edited 8/14/15 12:31pm]

Just curious, are there any of the old, hard to find associated artist albums on TIDAL? That might make me reconsider joining the subscription.

LOL this is awesome. Finding his music is like playing a game of wack-a-mole. Where will it pop up next? And for how long?

Strange, but could just be pulled in order to be put back up on the 7th... for effect.

Interesting. There seems to be so many things we don't know.
It sounds like there's at least two records coming up, maybe Prince fullfilling his WBR obligations while releasing a BLM -stance album on Tidal. I find it hard to believe Prince put the shackles back just like that.

Prince probably wants "HITNRUN" to be the focus

Prince's obligations to WBR are not fulfilled until the remasters are put out. Him receiving his masters was conditional on their being the exclusive licensee of them. WBR could care less about putting out Prince's new albums.

How do you know Prince getting his masters back was conditional on delivering remasters? I understand the law was heavily on Prince's side, that rights reverted to the artist after a certain number of years and that a deal was reached for a certain number of these recordings if not all WB album and tracks up to the day the deal was signed.
However I can't back my interpretation with solid proof and neither can you.

It doesn't say at all that he has to deliver remasters, it says there were "planned projects", but his past catalog is more framed this way:
This deal marks a new era as the ability to terminate master recording copyright after 35 years was granted in the Copyright Revision Act of 1976 and became effective in 1978, the year that Prince's debut album came out. As 2013 loomed, record label executives and artists managers said that they were unsure how copyright terminations and ownership reversions would play out as they expected a precedent-setting court case to decide whether the "work-for-hire" clause in standard recording contracts could successfully be challenged by artists. Works created under work-for-hire contracts are not eligible for copyright reversion. But privately some label executives have also said that in some instances the wiser course might be to negotiate the reversions and retain control of issuing artists' catalog eligible for copyright terminations.
Financial terms and length of the licensing deal were not disclosed; nor does the announcement make clear on whether the artist is gaining ownership of his catalog all at once; or more likely as each album becomes eligible for copyright termination.
As you can see, there's no way you can say anything was conditional because his records were slowly reverting to him anyway, it wasn't a question of him agreeing to remaster them. Sure they appeared to be on the verge of releasing remastered albums, but him gaining back his catalog slowly was not conditional on that, it was happening already and this report seems to say WBR negotiated proactively.

I've recently been watching/re-watching the first 3 Daniel Craig James Bond movies in advance of the 4th movie coming out soon. . I didn't own them, so I first looked on cable. Nope. Then Netflix and Amazon Prime. Not there either. Then I was cool with renting them -- not available to rent either. Finally I bought them on Blu-Ray for $5 each, about the same price as renting. . I do remember them being all over cable at one point, but not lately. Obviously a marketing move because of the new movie . . . but it seems almost backwards in a sense. Wouldn't you want to drive interest up by showing the older movies more? . I imagine what another poster said is accurate: trying to somehow focus attention toward the new album.
