Wanna buy the Purple Rain house?

The house from Purple Rain is for sale, for the not-unreasonable price of $110k. Talk about the ultimate piece of memorabilia! No word if it comes with shelves for jelly in the basement or the chalk outline that the MPD draws before people actually die. lol

The woodwork is gorgeous. But it definitely needs some TLC.

The picture of the basement stairs was pretty cool. Otherwise there's not much that's recognizable from the movie. Even the front door has been relocated.

I don't think any of the scenes from Purple Rain were actually filmed inside this house. If I remember correctly, the house was used strictly for exterior shots. The scenes that took place inside the home in the movie were actually filmed on a constructed set and not inside this house.

Yep. And they added a new set of steps to where the new entrance is. Interestingly, they kept the original steps intact (the ones that Prince used in the film) even though they go nowhere now.

the best thing about this house, is that its only a few blocks across Hiawatha, from Ted Cook's BBQ joint...sweartogod the best beef ribs (mild sauce on the side) on the Earth... on e38th off Cedar...peach cobbler no joke either...pork eaters also love the pork ribs and rib tips deeply...but i digress

"WHAT THE FUCK'S WRONG WITH YOU, KID?!" My favorite line from Purple Rain. I love how Billy Sparks comes busting into the room backstage, where Prince is pacing back and forth like a lion in a cage (lol) and says that.

RIP, mom. I will forever miss and love you.

nod

I have to say, though - they did an excellent job of matching the set to what the house actually looked like inside.
