I know it's been said be4 (<- that's been said be4 2!!! lol

) but I am in heart

with this song!

I have NEVER heard the whole version, just snippets of what was featured in those scenes in UTCM; when Christopher & Mary were dancing - the ocean in the background...

So perhaps I have no right to make this statement until I actually HEAR the song from start to finish, but it just sounds so magical! The soaring guitar...the wild Clare Fischer orchestrations in the background...

I'm asking (alright, begging) you to post here any and all comments regarding this song - any anecdotes regarding the time you first heard it - any pictures you think best conjure up the aural image of "Alexa de Paris"...

Apart from Xpectation, why oh why oh why hasn't Prince recorded more instrumental music??? This track is phenomenal!!!

I remember someone saying on this site years ago that they were going to get married to this music. I think that's such a lovely image, walking down the aisle to 'Alexa de Paris'.

to hear more tracks like this.

This has been in my top 5 since the day I bought the 45 (vinyl single for you young'uns).

My favorite memory of this song is playing it over and over the day I got it and my non-fan little brother listening to it and saying rather offhandedly, "He's a genius." Out of the mouths of babes...
