Could Prince Handle An Interview On The Breakfast Club? Prince hasn't done an in-depth interview on television since The Tavis Smiley Show on PBS in 2009 (Arsensio Hall interview from last year was dull and bland) and if Prince was serious about raising his profile from legendary icon to an artist that younger people or folks that buy new music on an on-going basis could recognize other than being a legacy artist that makes business decisions that gives him bad public relations, he would go on shows like The Breakfast Club with Charlamagne The God, DJ Envy and Angela Yee and answer pointed questions that he couldn't jsut dodge with other journalists. Charlamagne is a Prince fan and was a fan-boy when Prince performed on SNL last November. At this point, Prince probably doesn't care about fame but for a guy who says he likes working with young people because they have the ideas, being more engaging with people besides fans that follow him on Twitter would go a long towards adding to his legacy through another generation. Maybe I'm wrong, but what does everyone think? 3121 #1 THIS YEAR

Prince should go on 1st Take with Stephen A. Smith and Skip Bayless

"pointed questions that he couldn't jsut dodge with other journalists." Like what would they think to ask? What?

They would be too star struck to ask any relevant questions like most interviewers of Prince. TBH if I had an hour with Prince I would think I knew what I wanted to ask but when he walks into the room I'd forget everything.

He's not in a beef with anybody. What?

To be fair, Prince didn't give an in-depth interview on the Tavis Smiley Show either.

Exactly. It doesn't matter what question they ask, Prince will answer with whatever it is he wants to speak about. If it's not some nonsense like the chemtrails it will happen with Prince saying to the interviewer, let me ask you this...
If the interviewer presses the point it won't matter, he'll either carry on with his agenda until they change their line or he'll just up and leave. RIP

Forget that. I want to hear him interviewed by Howard Stern. Howard has been knocking it out of the park the last couple of years with the interviews. Prince would probably clam up, though, even under the new kinder, gentler, more in-depth Stern interview style.

I'd rather Marc Marron. Always cry 4 love, never cry 4 pain.

. Love that you're thinking that an interview in which Prince could spout bullcrap about chemtrails is "in-depth". © Bart Van Hemelen

P should be commended for speaking on chemtrails...its a very real concern...you have to be either blind or in complete denial, to think that someones/something isnt spraying something in the skies ..... whether its cloud seeding or population control, or some type of behavior control agent like Skipper suggests, is still not clear...but its obvious that something sinister is going on...ordinary jet contrails do NOT stay in the sky and spread into strange odorous clouds...

I don't know if he's as interesting as Hitler, serial killers or cannibals.
He's only the ruler of a small imaginary kingdom and causing fansites to close isn't yet considered a crime against humanity, so all in all, not sure a hard-hitting interview is needed.

Prince interviews are pointless. No matter what the interviewer wants to ask, Prince will only plug his latest protege, tease music that will not be released, and talk at length (again!!!) about the state of the record industry and why he distrusts it. Ho-hum.

this. I think Howard Stern would be the best in terms of a Prince interview.

I love how you and others take one topic out an interview and go off on a fucking tangent because he said something you do not agree with. Those interviews with Tavis show him to be a real human being and I do not know anyone who goes on a program to be grilled and attacked. In America we have celebrities on TV making total asses out of themselves. I have not seen Prince act like that on T.V so compared to others he is doing pretty good. I also would like to know what exactly do you want Prince to talk about he is an entertainer so I never expect anything in depth or discussion on world affairs.

This was also the interview where he said his childhood epilepsy was cured by an angel, right?

The Tavis interview did reveal more of his nuttiness (what, with the chemtrails bit), but it was, by far, one of his most interesting interviews in recent memroy.

No he said he told his mother he was cured by an angel but he was a child when he told her that and he got the story from his mom since he did not recall saying it. Those interviews with Tavis make him more human and less plastic. What is wrong with sitting on a friends couch and shoting the shit?

Nothing, but when there's a camera there and it's on television it's a completely different situation. That interview made him seem more inhuman than ever. It was a good watch though, Prince is great. Long may he not be normal!
