apart from all the tracks that were considered for it and swaped on tracklists

between come and the gold experience (and were later mostly released with
the Crystal Ball set) there are a few other tracks that were recorded during

these sessions (like Emotional Crucifixion, Strawberries, Strength) but they

have never been circulating in the bootleg cirquit until now, afaik.

song that were actually put on various (known) configurations of the album:

Strength
Ripopgodazippa
Interactive
Space
Days Of Wild
Angie
The Jam
Acknowledge Me
Chaos And Disorder
Listen 2 The Rhythm

of which only 2 have never been heard (strength and the stones cover angie)
the rest was released on crystal ball/come/child of the sun/chaos & disorder.
days of wild remains unreleased in studioversion, but is circulating, and has
been since 1994.

Me too.

Took the CD to the checkout a day or two after release and the guy serving said:
"Good album, these are the best songs:"

He turned the CD over and pointed at Endorphinemanchine and Gold.

Actually quite a boring story when I see it written down, but it remains the first and last time store staff talked to me about Prince (and from an informed perspective too).

Have listened to it so many times I could probably sing the whole thing backwards.

Similar for me. I walked into HMV Liverpool and could hear I Hate U being played really loud on their great sound system and the guys who worked there were talking about it in glowing terms. I remember driving home as fast as I could to listen to it as I didnt have a CD player in my car.

.

I was so disappointed tho that Days Of Wild wasn't on it. I'd watched the Beautiful Experience TV special about a million times so I was dying to have that song

My high school threw all night parties for graduating seniors. At my class's party the DJ played P Control (this was in 1996). I couldn't believe what I was hearing. That filthy shit at a high school party? Someone probably got fired. I had no idea it was Prince. I loved him as a kid growing up in the 80s, but never previously bought his albums. But after P Control, I was hooked.

IIRC I knew DOW had been edited out b4 release so no disappointment on that particular day. The situation with Come and TGE was a bit peculiar because we had heard nearly all the songs that could have been on them or had been considered for them so each of us had their own xpectations regarding tracklists before release. I was pissed to death that DOW, Interactive, Acknowledge Me and Ripopgodazippa had been left out, but on the other hand I ended-up falling in love with the album as it was. I've reconstructed it as intended in 1994 and I'm not sure I'd like that one version better because for every great song added to the mix, we lose another great song.

And some songs that were on none of the known configurations would have made great additions, I'm thinking mostly Love Sign and Hide The Bone.

Truth is, Prince could have released one of his best albums EVER by compiling tracks from Come & TGE + outtakes (a bit like what Boris did with The Dawn though his tracklist wasn't really cohesive in terms of recording sessions).

Just imagine a triple album à la Emancipation, with those 36 tracks (in no particular order):

Come

Space

Pheromone

Loose!

Papa

Race

Dark

Solo

Letitgo

Orgasm

P. Control

Endorphinmachine

Shhh

We March

The Most Beautiful Girl In The World

Dolphin

Now

319

Shy

Billy Jack Bitch

Eye Hate U

Gold

Days Of Wild

Acknowledge Me

Ripopgodazippa

Love Sign

Hide The Bone

Interactive

Calhoun Square

What's My Name

Strays Of The World

18 & Over

Mad

Funky Design

Pope (was already on the Hits/B-Sides but no one would have made a fuss about it I think)

The Jam (studio version)
