Right the Wrong ouutake?

Okay, so Right the Wrong is an unpopular song--I know, you don't have to tell me. Whether you like it or not, I don't care.

.

I do care about whether there's an actual difference as the song appears on the outtake collections and as it appears on Chaos and Disorder.

.

I understand that the 10000 Wallpaper is circulating "as an officially compiled set," and all--and it sounds less muffled than the album, brighter--but there's nothing really different with regard to Right the Wrong, is there? It also appears on the Work It and The Work collections, and, again, it sounds louder, but I don't think there's any extra bits or missing parts.

.

So--am I right or am I wrong about this?

According to Princevault it was entirely rerecorded in 1996 but the original version was finally used on C&D, they also consider the original before horns as a separate unreleased version (not sure why, as by definition nearly all Prince songs with horns have had the horns recorded at a later date).

The version on 10,000 Wallpaper is definitely the 93 version, just check if the horns are there or not.

The 1996 version never had horns so if any of your 2 other versions is hornless but sounds different than the released/10,000 version, it might be the rerecording.

I would check myself but I don't have the time right now.

It's got horns. I think it's the same, but the fact that it appears on the other collections just doesn't make sense to me, since they don't reproduce the 10000 Wallpaper tracklist (I know both collections include officially released work, but usually not something that appeared on a mainstream release like Chaos and Disorder).

.

Oh, and in Pharaoh4theMuse's defense, I'd misidentified Right the Wrong's album. His comment came before I corrected the error. Langbleu also had a post on this thread responding to that mistake. His just quoted mistake and then said "Wrong about this." I don't know what happened to his post--I guess he has supermod powers.
