TOP 5 (at the moment) TV PERFORMANCES!! Re-watching recently all of Princes TV performances.
What are your top 5 Prince TV (only) performances?? Mine (right now) would be:
1) Aresenio Hall '91 (superb energy and nice choreography) 2) Electric Chair (SNL Anniversary) 3) Fury (SNL 2006) (great version of this song w guitar at the fore) 4) Super Bowl (2007) (mostly because of the fearless show must go on attitude in a downpour and Best Of You and moving Purple Rain) 5) Ol' Skool Company (Leno)

Uhhh...Purple Rain at the AMAs in 1985. Duh. We don’t mourn artists because we knew them. We mourn them because they helped us know ourselves.

Hell yeah! I love the way he sings the lyrics, completely different rhythm and key than the actual song. Also the way he fits all the words in. It's the shit!

I really like the "Gett Off" performance from the '91 MTV Awards; other than that, "Purple Rain" from the '85 AMAs will do... Make it so, Number One...

So nobody in here enjoyed the 2006 BRIT AWARDS with Wendy & Lisa & Sheila in particular? Interesting. I surely did!
RnR HoF 2004 ("While My Guitar Gently Weeps") was fantastic, too, of course. As was the AMA performance of "Purple Rain". AND the 1994 appearances at the MTV Awards in Berlin ("Peach") and the VH-1 Honors gig with "Endorphinmachine" and "Interactive". AND Septimo in Madrid, Spain 1999 ("Motherless Child"). AND "Le Grand Journal", Paris, France 2011 ("Johnny B. Goode" unplugged).
Those would all list pretty high on my personal all-time priority list. Free the music.

Nobody showing love for the Brits 2006 performance with Sheila E, Wendy and Lisa?
I love that set and IMO betters the SNL Fury performance.
In no particular order my votes go to;
Prince & Wendy - Reflection (Travis Smiley 2004) D.M.S.R (Canadian TV 2004) (He looks like he's really enjoying himself Purple Rain AMA's RRHOF Endorphinemachine (1994 BBC top of the pops/interactive CD-rom version)
