Good for Stern. We have SUCH different standards that P gets held to... I guess part of it is unavoidable, but if a young new artist debuted AOA (or 3121 or a one-disc of LOTUS edited by the label), everybody would be falling over themselves to praise it as the work of a genius that is going to change pop music.

.

No, sane people would point out it is derivative crap.

lol agreed. In fact, the only reason it gets good reviews is because it's PRINCE.

I agree with @Doozer.. I mean, I loooove the Batman soundtrack but Purple Rain and Parade are better runner-ups for that sort of title. Personally, even with its' highs, I think Batman could have benefitted if it was a little longer. If he added in some B-Sides and/or "Dance With The Devil" (a completed and superior-to-the-circulating version), the album would be much higher-ranked amongst fans. I always see people on the org praise "Feel U Up" and "200 Balloons", and "I Love U in Me" has its fans too. Yet they hate "Lemon Crush", "Arms of Orion", etc... I think this album should have been longer, and darker. But since I make my own 'era' playlists, it don't matter either way

Nice to see Howard give props to P. He's been an open fan for a while, but lately I've seen mostly negativity about his persona
