Vicki Waiting I really love this song... It's not a masterpiece but it's just so smooth...
I think one of his best lines he ever wrote was this:
I told the joke about the woman

Beautiful, sensitive and intoxicating. Best song on album. Love the introspective lyrics.

Call me crazy... But those lyrics especially the joke about the organ... Is BRILLIANT and GENIUS. Only Prince can come up with that.

Fantastic song. It gets stuck in my head often. Which rules. "Drop that stereo before I blow your Goddamn nuts off, asshole!"

Supposedly originally titled Anna Waiting after Anna Fantastic, the girl he was dating during the Lovesexy/Early Batman era years. __________________________________________________

Nice to now that I wasn't the only one who thought this was a brilliant line. It's one that has resonated within me throughout my life. This song came out when I was 20 and as a kid who spent time in foster care for being knocked around way too hard and many times, I always wondered the same thing. It wasn't till 2 years ago that I had a baby and so far I can say, yes my character did deserve to have a copy made. So many concerns and yet I have the happiest 2 1/2 year old most people have ever met. He's going to be vertically challenged and his head is too big for his body but U can see a twinkle in his eye and he's already shown a sense of humor, plus after seeing me do the splits on a dance floor, he now is attempting to do them as well. Love this song!

Great song! It is in the genre of songs like "In this Bed I Scream" where Prince seems to put his most personal lyrics up against the bounciest musical background. Hasn't aged at all, as fresh today as it was 26 years ago. All good things they say never last...

. If you're crazy then that makes two of us. IMO Prince is a very clever lyricist--dare I say underrated--and capable of writing brilliant, moving poetry. Love it when he does word play, which he does a lot. But I've seen him take it as an art to the next level in terms of sophistication.

Talk of children still frightens me Ooooooh...that's what he says. I thought it was "one that deserves a coffee made", like "I don't want kids but maybe you could make me a coffee and later on we could fuck", which seemed like a really lame and contrived line. They lyrics seem so much better now, and I feel so much more stupid.

Awesome story - thank you for sharing Your story proves how powerful music can be thanks for sharing your story and persevering through life. So many choose to give up. I too love this song and every song on this album. The lyrics are what make this the best song on this album and one of the best pop songs ever. Funny, sexy, introspective, etc. all in one song. I listen to this song on repeat often. What's Anna Fantastic doing these days? She still got that Lemon Crush?

Per Wiki:
"Anna is the writer and executive producer of a documentary on Michael Jackson entitled Michael: The Last Photo Shoots,. Recorded an album of jazz songs. She has also composed music for Television shows including The Oprah Winfrey Show, The Dr.OZ Show, and others."
On an unrelated note, I was surprised to find this:

This thread makes me smile. This is my XBOX Live tag, lol. I love the song too. Something about the lyrics that make me think of a simpler time in my life, when I was madly in love with this tall drink of water with curly hair and big eyes. We hadn't a dime to our names, but we always talked about having a little girl. I felt like the line applied to both of us, but especially him. I always thought the song was also really sweet and cute because of the name. People who don't remember my actual name ALWAYS call me Vicky or Victoria!
(but that organ line had nothing to do with either of our parts lol just had to clarify that one!! )
But it was also a song I played a lot when I'd play games at night. I'd mute the TV, fire up the ol' Spotify list, and level up characters and such. I ain't been on the .org in a month o' Sundays. Lemme dust off my keyboard, baby!

Just found it this morning, right after I woke up. Wow. It was like hearing the song for the first time. Kind of like hearing the extended bits in the film only without the frustration of not being able to hear the whole thing.
