Still cant stop playing AOA..I dont care Time is becoming a classic for me. Like NewPOwerSoul, when you add up the standout tracks (Breakdown, Clouds, Gold Standard, Way Back Home, Breakfast) its a quietly brilliant Prince album Save America - Stop Illegal Immigration. God bless America. PEACE

IMO there's maybe 2-3 trax I would even hit repeat. It's sort of a meh album to my ears but to each his/her own [Edited 6/13/15 19:27pm]

AOA is one of those albums that really put Prince fan's in the middle. Only time will tell...
IMO it is not a BAD album at all, I've seen constant threads saying this album is trash, Joshua Welton, blah blah... However I've also seen people praise this album, it's the best album since blah blah blah...
IMO it is a good album. It's not great it's not bad... It's a good album considered all the previous albums he's released in the last 10 years, it's the most consitent, yes, however there is something lacking and missing in AOA that makes it a little bland at times...

Aside from the opening track, I still love every song on AOA. I think it's a great album. "Drop that stereo before I blow your Goddamn nuts off, asshole!"

Absolutely. The album is so much better when you start it with CLOUDS. "That's when stars collide. When there's space for what u want, and ur heart is open wide."

I never stopped playing it, the album is just magic from start to finish. I can even tolerate the endless samples in Art Official Cage and the Affirmations. . This could be us is pure gold, along with the Gold Standard, Breakdown, Way back home and Time. The other songs are all great as well. . In time many other fans will discover just how good this album is, because for the first time in 20 years, it sounds truly adventurous and innovative. This album still sits in my Top 10 being only behind the Golden 5 80s albums (DM, 1999, PR, Parade, SOTT) Lovesexy and The Gold Experience. On any given day it sits on the same level as Controversy and ATWIAD. Got some kind of love for you, and I don't even know your name

Absolutely. The album is so much better when you start it with CLOUDS. No it isn't! You ruin the entire concept! The only problem I have with this album is that it has too many slow songs, so the last thing I'd want to do isremove one of the uptempo tracks.

Well, personally I prefer musical cohesion over concept. AOC might be crucial for the 'concept' but makes for a noisy and uncomfortable start of the album. So that's why I prefer Clouds as an opener, puts me in a completely different -and much more pleasant- vibe. RIP Prince: thank U 4 a funky Time...

Concept, my nuts! Art Official Cage is way too corny. SKIP! Clouds is the opener. "Drop that stereo before I blow your Goddamn nuts off, asshole!"

I'm still loving it and think it's better than anything he's done since Gold (maybe not TRC musically).
. I like the concept but now I skip Artificial Official Cage, which I think of as more of an intro really. . I think Way Back Home, Time and Gold Standard are top notch closely followed by Clouds, Breakdown, This Could Be Us and affirmation III. [Edited 6/14/15 5:18am]

Isnt it funny how different peoples taste are. I think the title track is great, wacky and screams Prince to me. In fact I dont think you are a true Prince fan UNLESS you like that track!

Very nice R&B effort from Prince..Not for everyone maybe ..love Uknow ,TIME etc....i still play regularly

The "concept" is a little flimsy anyway. And the bad disco of AOC kind of ruins the cool factor for me. "That's when stars collide. When there's space for what u want, and ur heart is open wide."

I do like this album better than Rave album (I just can't stand the production on most of that album.). AOA has never left my CD player. 99.9% of everything I say is strictly for my own entertainment

I love the whole AOA cd, especially the opening track, The Gold Standard and the Affirmations. Prince, in you I found a kindred spirit...Rest In Paradise.

I've listened to it a lot and still do. I like it a lot more I ever thought I would, brilliant album, in my humble opinion...

always thought it was his best lp since Symbol lp...sometimes i do skip AOC though...sometimes i dont...i rather hear AOC than Funkenroll or Gold Standard... Clouds, Time, U Know, This Could Be Us, WayBackHome, and Breakfast Can Wait, are just as good as most of his best songs...especially Clouds, U Know, and Time [Edited 6/14/15 11:31am]

i understand the critism that theres too many slower tempo songs...i thought that at first too...but he's almost 60...seems to be the natural progression for artists that make music for that long, so i accept and dig it
