Sorry I now agree with 1contessa and should have not used such vulgarities. Hopefully those of you who have quoted the post in question, can edit out the vulgar language for me. I would but can not modify other people's posts. . everyone. I stand by my point though, very little of Prince's music indicates an interest or sexual preference for members of the male gender. But a very large amount of his music and lyrics does celebrate the beauty of the female form. . I was not pushed by a mod, I just felt that 1contessa was right and the language used was inaproppriate and not becoming of this site. Got some kind of love for you, and I don't even know your name

I think my post was misread. I do not know what Prince sexuality is. I don't give a damn if he is straight, gay or bi. All I care for him to be truthful and I hope he is. In terms of other posts saying he is straight because he sings about women and was married to two, well it doesn't mean anything. Look how many deeply closeted actors are in Hollywood for example. Liberace never admitted to be gay etc. Real life example is my gay friend who has a wife and a child but still sleeps with men only. Also there are many examples of people being very homophobic when in real life they are closeted gays themselves. We also know that Prince sometimes is homophobic for example towards Wendy and Lisa. Again I'm not saying this to claim Prince is gay. I'm saying this to say that human sexuality is not always black and white and maybe it will help others to understand it. In nutshell we should love one another despite our differences. Peace and be wild! [Edited 6/17/15 10:37am]

Oh but I am that close of a fan, but I never cared for Prince nasty songs either. When I was young, songs like Head made me blush, and I could not listen to them, and most of his other nasty songs, I just didn't care listening to, but that's just me. I don't like vulgarity, never did.

Sadly a lot of society including music fans are hyper masculine and naturally homophobic. Judging a persons sexuality by looking at a few pictures of them, is sad and ignorant. The whole Prince is gay schtick just has to stop. This type of evil tittle tattle pretty much carried off Michael Jackson too. . It also shows how being gay and homosexuals in general are now considered the lowest form of abuse and life to many people. People like hausofmoi7 who say that whites are racist and the like, do not realise that the white race (Including some Christian sects and liberal Jews) are the only ones who have embraced and respected the LGBT community. When groups like Black Africans, African Americans, Arabs and Muslims who seem to be forever harping on about how racist white people and how evil they are, show little or no compassion towards anyone LGBT. And even Prince, one of the targets of this homophobic abuse, has resorted to homophobia to deflect the comments. . All the people I notice who deride Prince for being and acting gay are BLACK, how surprising. Sick of the hypocrisy of these so called oppressed minorities. . Being a mix of European and Polynesian background, I see this crap every day, all my white family and white friends accept and respect the fact I am proudly gay, all the Polynesian (Brown ones) don't, they are homophobic and rattle on about it either being offensive to their warped medieval Christianity(Like Prince) or think it is pansy like and effeminate (Young people). And as we know, it is only really the western culture that treats women with respect and equality. . So sick of groups crying for tolerance and respect when they give NONE back to other minorities. White people on the other hand, largely bend over backwards for their fellow human beings. Everytime the Black, Asian or Muslim world has a disaster, whites are co erced to help, yet if a European or other White majority country (Besides ex communist) had a huge disaster, I bet you none of the oppressed 3rd peoples would give a shit. . Bleeding heart liberalism needs to stop focusing on giving hand outs to oppressed racial minorities and more help to social groups who are absolutely harmless. AIDS is blamed on gays, yet 83% of AIDS sufferers are Black Africans who got it through unprotected heterosexual sex with infected prostitutes, yet gays get the blame! . No these people rather than care about deeper global issues, are so immature they laugh at someone because they look or act "gay" . You ever wondered why so many black gay men have a white partner and how the number of gay black men who are open and friendly with their families in low in comparison to white gays and their families? Mainly as most balcks openly belong to versions of Christianity which are homophobic. Other religions like Islam, Hinduism and Chinese Religion are firmly anti gay proscribing death to gays. Only liberal Judaism, some liberal sects of Protestantism and some new age religions along with atheism and agnosticism respect and tolerate homosexuality and the adherents of these groups are mostly white. See no one has responded to my truths about Black Homophobia and the fact Homosexuality is only really accepted by white people. . Most of Prince's abuse for being gay and not manly is done by Blacks. . Really would love it if some of the Black American members here could defend gay rights instead of playing the race card whenever someone mentions it. I mean if Prince acted like Tupac or Teddy Pendergrass, no one would give him shit. Got some kind of love for you, and I don't even know your name

I mean if Prince acted like Tupac or Teddy Pendergrass, no one would give him shit. Wow. Where did that come from? Well, as one of these black Americans, I will say that you are absolutely wrong about these broad-brush claims. Many black celebrities are well known to be gay and are absolutely loved and revereed by millions of black folk. Luther Vandross is the most obvious example. The man is loved by male and females fans, and I'd say that whenever his sexuality comes up, the majority of folks are well aware that he was gay. Rahsaan Patterson, Frank Ocean, and Tevin Campbell are artists who are out of the closet and have millions of African American fans. There is a large black queer community. There is a whole ballroom culture. Sure, there are some homophobic black people, just like all races. And the idea that most of the abuse for Prince being gay is from black folks would be hilarious if it wasn't so wrong. In my somewhat typical high school, for example, in the late 1980s, almost all of the people who didn't like Prince because they thought he was gay were white male athletes and the "popular" white male crowd. I still find that the few people I know who actively dislike Prince are the white male hyper-masculine type. As for the religious angle, even the Dominican Christian deacon who sits next to me at work and spreads the "good word" every week is a Prince fan. And I'm not sure if your extended Polynesian family is a good source for understanding African Americans in general. In fact, I'm pretty sure that's a very poor source for understanding this issue. Yeah black people were so supportive about Luther Vandross being gay, pull the other one, why did he only come out a fewweeks before he died. And how many white jock comedians do you see making jokes about Prince being gay? . And then all of these storefront, earth am flat Baptist and Pentecostal churches who are violently anti gay that a high percentage of black people belong too, not to mention the Nation of Islam (Oh sorry Islam). Such great role models as Creflo Dollar, Eddie Long, Al Sharpton, Jesse Jackson and Brian Tamaki who say being gay is so wonderful . Sorry guys not convinced. Got some kind of love for you, and I don't even know your name

I'd love to meet you and have a conversation. You are just so interesting. Hmm, black role models. Try Melissa Harris-Perry, Van Jones, Cornel West, Barbara Lee, Wade Henderson, Wanda Sykes, John Lewis, Chris Rock, Ruthie Gilmore, Cory Booker, and many, many more who support gay rights and/or gay marriage. Perhaps the FUNNIEST part of your post is that you listed religious leaders who support gay marriage and gay rights: Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson. Are you familiar with the term "straw man argument"? It's where you put forward an oversimplified version of your opponents arguments, and then knock it down. But in your case, you've made your own argument as a straw man by listing people who have never made homoerotic jokes about Prince and some who support gay rights. And you think not seeing "white jock comedians" making jokes about Prince's supposed homosexuality means that white folks don't make these jokes. Very odd reasoning. I'm pretty sure such a comedian wouldn't even bother commenting on Prince. But more to the point, if you get to know more Americans of all races, I'm sure you'll see that anti-Prince jokes related to sexuality cross racial boundaries. "Love & honesty, peace & harmony"
