Fury vs. Let's Go Crazy Live I know Let's Go Crazy is an iconic Prince song and casual fans love it but don't you think hardcore and casual Prince fans would be okay with hearing Fury live instead. Yes I know for nostalgia purposes people want to hear the hits but he hasn't done Doves in ages. What do we love about Let's Go Crazy? The guitar flexing and rock swag right? Fury has more searing guitar shreds and it has swag for days. I for one would love to see Fury replace Let's Go Crazy in the live shows.

The SNL live version of Fury is one of my favs however when it comes to concerts, where the vast majority of the fans are of the fairweather type, you cannot underestimate nostalgia. It is Prince's curse. [Edited 6/10/15 6:12am]

He could still do Purple Rain and any other Purple Rain track like The Beautiful Ones to fill the nostalgia quota. He doesn't have to do Let's Go Crazy at every show, I'm sure he is sick of playing it and Purple Rain.

I choose LGC. Prince 4Ever.

Hmmm... I think it's more of issue that 'Fury' was a song written about Mani, and he likely just wants to let that statement stay in the past. I heard that Mani went for as much as she could in that divorce, and was likely the reason Prince took down his site during that time. "He's a musician's musician..."

I know it's ur opinion... Personally I think FURY is one of the best Prince tracks in the last 15 years...

Not a fan of Fury at all. Mind you until the 3rd Eye Girl version I don't think Lets Go Crazy has been much shakes with any band since the Revolution.

Nostalgia is a funny thing.
I saw Prince in Toronto recently and you know what songs absolutely killed me? LRC and Purple Rain. I was truly shocked as if I was in control of the setlist none of the hits would be on it. In both of these versions though he played an intro guitar solo that was so fucking beautiful I was completely stunned. No band , just him, all there by himself pouring his soul out through his guitar. Prince is truly, at this stage in his career, an other worldly guitar player, and it sometimes takes hearing the songs stripped down to realize how beautiful their melodies really are.

I've always thought that the Paisley Park (Extended Version) would make a great alternative to Let's Go Crazy. Always cry 4 love, never cry 4 pain.

Fuck yeah it would!! I'm all for nostalgia too but overplay kills any nostalgia I had for PR and LCR.

He hasn't done a decent version of Let's Go Crazy for about 2 decades.....IMHO.

I agree he hasn't done a decent version of let's go crazy in two decades he turned it into a Broadway show tune then he 3rd eye hurled which was a step up from the showtune but still not comparing to the original as for fury he blew the load on SNL AND NEVER PERFORMED IT WITH THAT KIND of energy again needless to say it only lasted 2006 to 2007. So I guess I'm disappointed in both. But my vote goes for the original performance 1984 version of let's go crazy lol
