"The Dawn" is the album Emancipation should have been, but it ended up being broken down into other configurations.

Come is Princes accidental masterpiece. In attempting to cobble together an album WB wouldn't be able to sell he compiled his darkest album to date. It was savaged by critics at the time but is now a standout point in his career.

Gold is nothing short of spectacular and is probably the most cohesive and coherent album from the 90s. I'n retrospect we can now look back and see Prince was at least 5 years ahead of any other pop star at the time.

Exodus is deep dark dank funk. I would love "hitandrun" to echo this sound. Despite all the FX and multi layers it retains something of an organic sound.

Was also more successful than Sign O' The Times, Parade, 1999, ATWIAD... Does that automatically make it better or "THE STRONGEST"?

I mean assuming we're not talking about the tensile strength of the CDs.

"Strongest" implies something has proven itself as such. Albums can only be measured accurately by sales. However strong sales don't always equate to a good album.

True... If u mean commercial success then yes D&P was a huge success... Selling over 6.7 million to date...

Purple Rain over 22 million and 1999 over 6 million also were achieved great success and were amazing albums as well.

It's a shame his most genius album SOTT didn't sell too well at all...

Damn near flawless.




Beautiful album, and personally probably the most under rated album by Prince fans and critics. The sound is so vibrant still to this day.



Love the album...very intimate and introspective, but I get the feeling that P doesn't love it as much.
